《第二課堂》創(chuàng)刊于1985年，由湖南省科學(xué)技術(shù)協(xié)會(huì)主辦，是一本以青少年為主要讀者對(duì)象、面向國內(nèi)外公開發(fā)行的綜合性刊物。每月編輯出版小學(xué)版、中學(xué)版、精品閱讀版各一本，內(nèi)容豐富，形式新穎，圖文并茂，信息量大，集科學(xué)性、知識(shí)性、趣味性、參與性于一體，是陪伴學(xué)生度過黃金時(shí)代的摯友、諍友、密友。
