Inventory control is one of the mostimportant business processes during theoperation of a trading or manufacturingcompany as it relates to purchases, sales andlogistic activities. In order to have clear inven-tory management, a company should focusnot only on logistic management but also onsales and purchase management. The generalview is that the warehouse serves as the mostimportant component of inventory manage-ment and that the accounting department isresponsible for the inventory management.However, inventory control is not only the re-sponsibility of the accounting department andwarehouse but also the responsibility of theentire organization. Actually, there are manydepartments involved in the inventory controlprocess, such as sales, purchasing, production,logistics and accounting. All these depart-ments must work together in order to achieveeffective inventory controls.
