When we speak, write a letter, or make a telephone call, our wordscarry a message. People communicate (交際) with words. But do youknow that we can communicate without words? A smile on your faceshows that you are happy. Tears (淚水) in your eyes tell others that youare sad. When you raise your hand in class, the teacher knows that youwant to ask a question or say something. When you shake your head,people know that you are saying"No". When you nod (點(diǎn)頭), peopleknow that you are saying"Yes". Other things can also carry messages.For example, a sign (招牌) at the bus stop helps you to know which busto take. A sign on the door tells you where to go in or out. Do you notice(注意) that there are a lot of signs around you? And you can get mes-sages from them all the time.
