愛(ài)一個(gè)人的形式有很多種，無(wú)論如何，發(fā)自?xún)?nèi)心的真愛(ài)總是會(huì)牽動(dòng)人心的。眼睛和心的重要性對(duì)每個(gè)人來(lái)說(shuō)都不言而喻，水和鹽看似平淡卻同樣不可缺少。

Once there was a King who had three daughters. They were all sitting at the table one evening when the King said, "My dear daughters tell me how much you love me."

"Father,I love you as much as my eyes,"said the oldest daughter.

"Father, I love you as much as my heart," said the second daughter.

But the youngest daughter looked at the table and said, "Father,I love you as much as water and salt."

The King was very angry and cried, "What! You love me no better than water and salt?You are not a loving daughter. I shall send you away to live in a hut (小屋) in the woods."

The King sent the youngest daughter away from the palace. She was very sad, for she really loved her father very much. She lived in a hut in the woods.

The youngest Princess was very lonely. The birds in the trees sang their song to her and she knew what they were saying. "Dear Princess, do not be lonely. Some day a Prince will find you.Dear Princess,do not cry. Some day a Prince will come by."

One day a Prince was hunting in the woods. He came to the hut in the woods. He saw a beautiful girl sitting in the doorway.The Prince went to her and said, "Fair(白膚金發(fā)的) lady, will you give me a drink of water?"

The Princess gave the Prince a cup of water. And he looked into her eyes and fell in love with her. "Fair lady,it is not good that you live in the woods," said the Prince. "Will you come with me to my fa- ther's castle?My mother and her servants will care for you."

The Prince took the Princess to his father's castle.He told his father that he wanted to marry the beautiful girl.And so a day was set for the wedding. The Queen said, "We must ask three Kings to the wedding. Three Kings will bring their good wishes. I want them to bring health,wealth,happiness to the Prince and his beautiful wife."The Princess asked that her father be invited to the wedding, although she did not tell the Queen that she was the daughter of this King.

The Princess's father did not want to go to a wedding,for he had never been happy after he had sent his youngest daughter into the woods.But the King said to himself, "If I do not go to this wedding, the father of the Prince will think that I am not his friend. I must go to the wedding."

The King did not know his own daughter in her wedding dress.The three Kings wished the Prince and his wife health, wealth and happiness. After the wedding there was a big feast.The Princess called a servant and pointed to her father, "Be sure that no servant gives that man any water or any salt,"she said.

The Princess,who was sitting near her father, saw that he was not eating very much. "Your Majesty, I see that you are not eating. Does the food not please you?"

"I do not feel very well,"said the King.The Princess had the servant give the King more meat. But the meat had no salt on it and he could hardly eat it. And he could hardly swallow the meat, for he had no water to drink.

After the wedding feast, stories were told. The King who was the father of the Princess said, "I have a sad story to tell. It is about a father who was very foolish. He had three beautiful daughters and he wanted to see how much they loved him. The oldest daughter told her father that she loved him as much as her eyes. The second daughter told her father that she loved him as much as her heart. But the youngest daughter told her father that she loved him as much as water and salt. The foolish father thought that his youngest daughter did not love him.And so he sent her away to live in a hut in the woods."

The Princess asked the King,her father,what happened to the youngest daughter. "The foolish father tried to find his youngest daughter. But she was gone from the hut in the woods," he said.

Everyone thought that the King had told a very sad story. No one saw the Princess leave the big hall. She went to her room and put on the dress she had worn when her father had sent her into the woods. Then she went back into the big hall.

"Father," said the Princess, "I am your youngest daughter.And I love you like water and salt. For without water and salt we cannot eat and we cannot live."Everyone was happy. And so the sad story had a very happy ending.

從前有位國(guó)王，他有三個(gè)女兒。一天晚上，當(dāng)他們坐在一起進(jìn)餐時(shí)，國(guó)王說(shuō)：“親愛(ài)的女兒，告訴我，你們有多么愛(ài)我?！?/p>

“父親，我愛(ài)您就如同我愛(ài)我的眼睛一樣?！贝笈畠赫f(shuō)。

“父親，我愛(ài)您就如同我愛(ài)我的心一樣。”二女兒說(shuō)。

但是最小的女兒注視著桌面，卻說(shuō)：“父親，我愛(ài)您就如同我愛(ài)水和鹽。”

國(guó)王非常生氣，怒吼道：“什么?你對(duì)我的愛(ài)只不過(guò)像你對(duì)水和鹽的愛(ài)?你不是我親愛(ài)的女兒，我要把你打發(fā)走，讓你住在林中的小屋里?！?/p>

國(guó)王把最小的女兒從皇宮里趕了出去。小公主非常悲傷，因?yàn)樗龑?shí)在是很愛(ài)父親啊。她住在林中的小屋里。

小公主覺(jué)得好寂寞，樹(shù)上的鳥(niǎo)唱歌給她聽(tīng)，她也知道鳥(niǎo)兒在唱什么：“親愛(ài)的公主，不要覺(jué)得寂寞，他日有位王子會(huì)找到你。親愛(ài)的公主，不要哭，他日有位王子會(huì)來(lái)到這里?！?/p>

一天，有位王子在林中打獵。他來(lái)到林中的小屋前，看見(jiàn)一位美麗的女孩坐在門(mén)口。王子走過(guò)去對(duì)她說(shuō)：“美麗的小姐，能給我一口水喝嗎？”

公主拿了一杯水給王子，王子凝視著她的眼睛，愛(ài)上了她?！懊利惖男〗?，你住在樹(shù)林里可不好，”王子說(shuō)，“你愿意和我一起回我父親的城堡嗎?我的母親和她的仆人會(huì)照顧你?！?/p>

王子帶著公主回到父親的城堡。他告訴父親說(shuō)他想娶這美麗的女孩為妻，于是他們確定了結(jié)婚的日子。王后說(shuō)：“我們必須邀請(qǐng)三位國(guó)王來(lái)參加婚禮。三位國(guó)王會(huì)帶著祝福而來(lái)。我希望他們能為王子和他美麗的妻子帶來(lái)健康、財(cái)富和快樂(lè)?！惫髡?qǐng)求邀請(qǐng)她的父親出席婚禮，雖然她并沒(méi)有告訴王后她是這位國(guó)王的女兒。

公主的父親并不想?yún)⒓踊槎Y，因?yàn)樽詮乃炎钚〉呐畠呵菜偷綐?shù)林里后，他就不再快樂(lè)了。但是國(guó)王心想：“如果我不參加婚禮，王子的父親會(huì)認(rèn)為我不把他當(dāng)朋友，所以我必須參加。”

國(guó)王沒(méi)有認(rèn)出穿著新娘禮服的女兒。三位國(guó)王共同祝福王子和他的妻子擁有健康、財(cái)富和快樂(lè)。婚禮結(jié)束后，舉行了一個(gè)盛大的宴會(huì)。公主喚來(lái)一個(gè)仆人，并指著她的父親說(shuō)：“絕對(duì)不要讓任何一個(gè)仆人，拿水或鹽給那位先生。”她說(shuō)。

坐在國(guó)王附近的公主注意到她的父親吃得不多?！氨菹?，我發(fā)現(xiàn)您沒(méi)怎么吃東西，是不是食物不合您意呢?”

“我不太舒服，”國(guó)王說(shuō)。公主叫仆人拿更多的肉給國(guó)王，但肉上沒(méi)有鹽，所以國(guó)王幾乎不能吃它，而且他更無(wú)法把肉咽下，因?yàn)闆](méi)有水可以喝。

婚宴之后，大家開(kāi)始講故事。國(guó)王，也就是公主的父親說(shuō)：“我要講個(gè)悲傷的故事，這是關(guān)于一位愚昧的父親的故事。他有三個(gè)漂亮的女兒，他想要知道女兒們有多么愛(ài)他。大女兒告訴父親說(shuō)，她愛(ài)他就如同她愛(ài)她的眼睛一樣；二女兒告訴父親說(shuō)，她愛(ài)他就如同她愛(ài)她的心一樣；但最小的女兒告訴父親說(shuō)，她愛(ài)他就如同她愛(ài)水和鹽一樣。愚蠢的父親認(rèn)為最小的女兒不愛(ài)他，所以就把她遣送到樹(shù)林里的小屋中居住?！?/p>

公主問(wèn)國(guó)王，也就是她的父親，最小的女兒怎么樣了?！坝薮赖母赣H想要找回最小的女兒，可是她已經(jīng)離開(kāi)林中的小屋了?！彼f(shuō)。

每個(gè)人都認(rèn)為國(guó)王講了一個(gè)非常悲傷的故事，沒(méi)有人注意到公主離開(kāi)了大廳。她回到自己的房間里，換上了父親遣送她到樹(shù)林時(shí)所穿的衣服，然后返回大廳。

“父親，”公主說(shuō)，“我就是您最小的女兒。我愛(ài)您，就如同我愛(ài)水和鹽一樣，因?yàn)槿绻麤](méi)有水和鹽，我們就不能吃東西，也不能活下去?！贝蠹叶己芨吲d，這個(gè)悲傷的故事有了一個(gè)很幸福的結(jié)局。
