Despite the financial crisis, there has only been very limited impact on the world expo. So far, the International Exhibition Bureau (IEB) has not received a single withdrawal application from any country. The exhibition industry is an integral part of the modem service industry and has a long industri-al chain that incorporates lots of different industries. Exhi-bitions involve the flow of commodities, materials, human resources, capital and information, driving up consumption in the transportation, accommodations, catering, retail, tourism, real estate, postal services, telecommunications, ad printing, banking and insurance industries. The growth of the exhibition industry may increase business in these nine related industries. Its development can not only create jobs within the industry, but also increase the income of employees in related industries. Undoubtedly, the success of the Shanghai Expo 2010 will not only boost China, but also breathe fresh air into the sluggish world economy.
