The musician Bob Dylan once wrote: “I like tospend some time in Mozambique…It is verynice to stay a week or two, and fall in love justme and you.” Not long after the songs releasein 1976, Mozambique entered a long civil warin which there was little love and less to singabout. Since peace was established in the early1990s, however, the country has recovered andis now revered as an African success story, withGDP growth averaging 7.3 percent over thepast 10 years. Although Bob Dylans concertswere recently canceled in China, it seems thathis admiration for Mozambique is shared byChinese traders and investors.
