生活中充滿(mǎn)了意外，介紹近年流行的“景觀績(jī)效”的本期專(zhuān)題也不例外。撰寫(xiě)這篇編者按讓我回想起去年林廣思博士出席2014年風(fēng)景園林教育委員會(huì)（CELA）在巴爾地摩年會(huì)的情景。當(dāng)時(shí)我身任CELA科研副主席（VPR），負(fù)責(zé)摘要審查工作。在我副主席任內(nèi)，推動(dòng)景觀績(jī)效成為CELA標(biāo)準(zhǔn)議題之一，并在該年會(huì)首次介紹給與會(huì)者。后來(lái)我才知道，林博士當(dāng)時(shí)對(duì)于景觀績(jī)效的課題深感興趣，聽(tīng)了多場(chǎng)演講，隨而興起籌劃專(zhuān)題的想法，期待《風(fēng)景園林》景觀績(jī)效專(zhuān)題由于其前瞻性和對(duì)于學(xué)科與專(zhuān)業(yè)在中國(guó)的潛在影響將吸引中國(guó)讀者予以關(guān)注。

承蒙林博士的邀請(qǐng)讓我有此機(jī)會(huì)組織論文以反映目前美國(guó)景觀績(jī)效的研究概貌和進(jìn)展，并邀請(qǐng)?jiān)诰坝^績(jī)效科研已經(jīng)有顯著貢獻(xiàn)與成果的作者撰文。我初始的想法包含景觀績(jī)效系列（LPS）概述和在景觀績(jī)效理論框架下3個(gè)主要效益的量化，即環(huán)境、 經(jīng)濟(jì)和社會(huì)效益。在閱讀過(guò)作者群的論文之后，當(dāng)初的想法已然被大幅超越和提升。在此值得為讀者介紹專(zhuān)題特刊的作者陣容如下（以英文姓氏排序）。

芭芭拉·多伊奇是風(fēng)景園林基金會(huì)（LAF）的執(zhí)行總監(jiān)，她也是景觀績(jī)效系列專(zhuān)題的主要推行者。

克里斯托弗·D·埃利斯是馬里蘭大學(xué)的副教授、風(fēng)景園林教育委員會(huì)景觀績(jī)效主題的共同負(fù)責(zé)人之一，他也是2011年風(fēng)景園林基金會(huì)（LAF）CSI 項(xiàng)目的研究學(xué)者。

李明翰（撰文者）是德克薩斯州農(nóng)工大學(xué)的教授、2012年-2014年風(fēng)景園林教育委員會(huì)科研副主席，同時(shí)他也是2012年風(fēng)景園林基金會(huì)（LAF）CSI 項(xiàng)目的研究學(xué)者。

羅毅是德克薩斯州科技大學(xué)助理教授。她也是2012年風(fēng)景園林基金會(huì)（LAF）CSI 項(xiàng)目的研究助理。

福斯特·恩杜比斯是德克薩斯州農(nóng)工大學(xué)的風(fēng)景園林與城市規(guī)劃系的教授兼系主任。他主持了風(fēng)景園林基金會(huì)的研究委員會(huì)，該委員會(huì)正是景觀績(jī)效系列專(zhuān)題的發(fā)起者。

塔納爾·奧茲迪爾是德州大學(xué)阿靈頓分校的副教授，他也是2013年風(fēng)景園林基金會(huì)CSI項(xiàng)目的研究學(xué)者。

希瑟·惠伊洛是風(fēng)景園林基金會(huì)案例分析調(diào)查（CSI）項(xiàng)目的經(jīng)理。

楊波是猶他州立大學(xué)風(fēng)景園林與環(huán)境規(guī)劃學(xué)系助理教授。他也是2011年-2013年風(fēng)景園林基金會(huì)CSI項(xiàng)目的研究學(xué)者。

數(shù)據(jù)由SPSS20.0統(tǒng)計(jì)軟件分析，計(jì)量資料用（±s）表示，用t檢驗(yàn)，計(jì)數(shù)資料用率（n）表示，P＜0.05代表差異具有統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)意義。

除此之外，同濟(jì)大學(xué)戴代新副教授和我之前共同提交的《美國(guó)景觀績(jī)效評(píng)價(jià)研究進(jìn)展》論文亦在主編的精心安排下收錄于此專(zhuān)題。

景觀績(jī)效的研究尚在起步階段。盡管該績(jī)效的研究已經(jīng)在2010年開(kāi)始，但對(duì)量化各個(gè)效益的經(jīng)驗(yàn)和方法仍是很有限的。風(fēng)景園林學(xué)科和專(zhuān)業(yè)應(yīng)繼續(xù)堅(jiān)持循證設(shè)計(jì)方法，景觀績(jī)效研究有希望帶領(lǐng)我們朝這個(gè)方向邁進(jìn)，歡迎您加入一起探索。（李明翰/文）

Life is full of unexpected. The formation of this special issue on the recent popular landscape performance topic is such example. Writing this editorial brings me back to recall the occasion when Dr. Guangsi Lin attended the 2014 Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA)annual conference in Baltimore. I was the CELA Vice President for Research (VPR) in charge of the abstract review process for the conference. Under my tenure as VPR, “l(fā)andscape performance”became one of the CELA standard tracks and was introduced the first time at a CELA annual conference. As there were several presentations in the landscape performance track at that conference,Dr. Lin, later I knew, was drawn to sit in several of them and decided that a special issue on landscape performance in the near future issue of “Landscape Architecture” will be appealing to China readers because of its forward-thinking and potential impact on the discipline and profession in China.I was honored to be asked by Dr. Lin to layout the composition of the topics reflecting current status in the US and invite authors who have had signifi cant involvements in landscape performance research. My idea of this special issue was to provide an overview of the Landscape Performance Series and encompass the quantifi cation of all three benefi t aspects under the theoretical framework of landscape performance, including environmental,economic and social. Now reading the published articles, my original idea was surpassed and elevated by the rich and innovative studies contributed by the suite of authors who are worth of mentioning.

Elen Deming is professor at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She was a renowned editor ofLandscape Journal.

Barbara Deutsch is the Executive Director of Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF), the major driver of Landscape Performance Series.

Christopher Ellis is associate professor at Maryland University and track co-chair of landscape performance for the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture. He was a research fellow in 2011 CSI Program by LAF.

Ming-Han Li (myself) is professor at Texas A & M University. He was VPR of CELA from 2012-14 and a research fellow in 2012 CSI Program by LAF.

Yi Luo is assistant professor at Texas Tech University. She was a research assistant in 2012 CSI Program by LAF.

Forster Ndubisi is professor and head of landscape architecture and urban planning department at Texas A & M University who chairs the LAF’s research committee that initiated the Landscape Performance Series.

TanerOzdil is associate professor at University of Texas at Arlington. He was a research fellow in 2013 CSI Program by LAF.

Heather Whitlow is the manager of Case Study Investigation (CSI) Program at LAF.

Bo Yang is assistant professor at Utah State University. He was a research fellow in 2011, 2012 and 2013 CSI Programs by LAF.

Besides, Dr. Daixin Dai, associate professor of Tongji University, China and I submitted a manuscript entitled “Research Development of Landscape Performance Assessment in America.”This paper is included in this special issue as well.

Landscape performance research is still new.Although such research has been initiated since 2010, the experience and method in quantifying performance in the environmental, economic and social aspects are limited. The landscape architecture discipline and profession should continue the path of evidence-based design approach. The direction of what landscape performance research can lead us to appears to be a promising one. I welcome you to join the adventure.
