CHINA SOUTHERN ACHIEVES ONE MORE SAFE YEAR

At 22:58, 31st December, 2015, China Southern's CZ3582 landed smoothly at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, marking the fu lfi lment of another safe year of fl ight.With this, China Southern transported nearly 110 million passengers safely throughout the year, a year on year rise of 8.3%.

Last year saw China Southern Airlines operating a total of 1.76 million safe hours with 716,000 fl ights.By the end of 2015, China Southern has accumulated 15 million hours of safe fl ight operations, keeping the best record in the Chinese Mainland.In 2015, China Southern launched new services from Guangzhou to New York, Nairobi, Rome (via Wuhan), and Christchurch, and optimised fl ight networks in areas such as Oceania, Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Middle-West Asia.At the moment, China Southern operates more than 800 routes, including 600 domestic and 160 international and 16 cargo routes.China Southern's passengers on Australasian routes have surged from 53,000 in 2009 to 1.12 million in 2015.China Southern is now the largest air carrier serving between China and Oceania, Southeast Asia and Middle-West Asia.

CITIZENS EXPLORE ASIA'S LARGEST AIRLINE

On 29th December 2015, China Southern opened itself to the public.More than 60 citizens from 10 local families, selected from more than 700 applicant families from the internet, came to have a closer look at the headquarters of China Southern Airlines in Guangzhou.

Citizens, together with journalists visited the departments of operations, fl ight attendant training, and product services of the largest airline in Asia.Besides learning how the command centre of a complicated airline works and what preparations the cabin crew need to do, they also experienced the process of in fl ight fi rst aid and emergency evacuation.

On the fi rst day of 2016, China Southern gave out 5000 lucky bags to passengers on 16 fl ights from Guangzhou to Beijing, Shanghai, Australia, Europe, and America.

In the lucky bags for Economy Class passengers, there were coupons for hot springs and gold products, whilst in each First Class lucky bag there was a Lukfook pure gold coin in addition.This is part of the “Gold Surprise for the First Flight of the Year” promotion of Mayland City China, a property developer.

SHENZHEN-SYDNEY DIRECT FLIGHT LAUNCHED

南航新開深圳-悉尼直飛航線

On 27th January, 2016, China Southern opened a new direct service between Shenzhen and Sydney.This is the fi rst fl ight from Shenzhen to Oceania, and the seventh one China Southern has launched to the continent, following Guangzhou-Sydney, Guangzhou-Melbourne, Guangzhou-Brisbane, Guangzhou-Perth, Guangzhou-Auckland, and Guangzhou-Christchurch services.The Shenzhen-Sydney fl ight is operated by an Airbus A330 every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
