與人體部位有關(guān)的英文短語

摘要：在英語學(xué)習(xí)過程中我們時(shí)常遇到和人體部位有關(guān)的短語搭配，它們既簡練又生動，能夠簡潔明了地傳達(dá)講話人的意圖，同時(shí)又使聽話者準(zhǔn)確形象地接收信息，從而有效地促成了談話雙方預(yù)期的信息交換。

在英語學(xué)習(xí)的過程中，我們可以留意到其中有不少和人體部位相關(guān)的短語搭配或習(xí)慣用法。它們具有明晰簡練、形象生動的特點(diǎn)。學(xué)習(xí)者如果能夠恰當(dāng)?shù)丶右赃\(yùn)用，則會給人留下“如見其貌，如聞其聲”的深刻印象。

1. head：頭部，頭腦

（1） come to a head： 緊要關(guān)頭； 緊急時(shí)刻

It came to a head when the Prime was murdered.

（首相的遇刺身亡使事態(tài)瀕臨危急關(guān)頭。）

（2） laugh one’s head off： 笑掉大牙

When I told her the funny joke she almost laughed her head off.

（聽過了我講的滑稽故事，她笑得直不起腰來。）

（3） put ones’ heads together： 共同協(xié)商

We must put our heads together to decide which way to go.

（我們得一起來商量，共同決定發(fā)展的方向。）

2. face：臉面，面部

（1） pull a long face： 悶悶不樂，不高興

When he was told he couldn’t go to the London Tower he pulled a long face.

（當(dāng)?shù)弥荒苋ビ斡[倫敦塔時(shí)，他顯得很不高興。）

（2） lose face： 丟臉，沒面子

He was afraid of failure because he didn’t want to lose face with his friends. （他害怕失敗是因?yàn)樗辉冈谂笥衙媲皝G臉。）

3. eye：眼睛

（1） make eyes at： 暗送秋波

He made eyes at every girl he met.

（他對遇見的每個女孩都暗送秋波。）

（2） my eye： 哎呦， 胡說

A diamond， my eye！ That’s glass.

（鉆石？！怎么可能！那是玻璃。）

（3） keep one’s eyes open： 警覺，留心

The thieves have kept their eyes open for the police.

（小偷時(shí)刻提防著警察。）

4. ear：耳朵

（1） play it by ear： 隨機(jī)應(yīng)變

We should play it by ear when something unexpected happens.

（意外發(fā)生時(shí)我們要能夠隨機(jī)應(yīng)變，靈活處理。）

（2） prick up one’s ears： 豎起耳朵仔細(xì)地聽

I pricked up my ears when they started talking something about me.

（當(dāng)他們聊起我時(shí)，我在一旁仔細(xì)地聽著。）

（3） Walls have ears. （隔墻有耳。）

5. nose：鼻子

（1） powder one’s nose： （尤指女士）上廁所

Excuse me， could you tell me how to get to the nearest toilet？ I just want to powder my nose.

（勞駕請問最近的衛(wèi)生間在哪？我需要方便一下。）

（2）keep one’s nose out of：不要多管閑事

e.g. Keep your nose out of here. It has nothing to do with you.

（不要多管閑事，此事與你無關(guān)。）

（3） a button nose：塌塌鼻

I guess the guy who has a button nose is from South China.

（我想那個家伙應(yīng)該是南方人。他有一個塌塌鼻。）

6. teeth：牙齒

（1） show one’s teeth： 張牙舞爪，威嚇

It’s useless to show your teeth to us. No one is afraid of you here.

（沒必要沖我們張牙舞爪的。在這兒沒人怕你。）

（2） tooth and nail竭盡全力地，堅(jiān)決地

They fought tooth and nail to get their plan carried out.

（他們盡力爭取使他們的計(jì)劃得以實(shí)施。）

（3） lie in one’s teeth： 睜著眼睛說瞎話，撒謊成性

I don’t think he is honest. He often lies in his teeth.

（我覺得他一點(diǎn)都不老實(shí)，一天到晚凈說瞎話。）

7. tongue：舌部，舌頭

（1） bite one’s tongue：有話不直說 （尤其迫不得已時(shí)）

I can’t imagine what would happen if I told the boy his mother was killed by the accident， so what I can do is to bite my tongue tightly.

（我無法想象這小男孩如果得知媽媽在事故中出了意外他會發(fā)生什么事情，因此我沒有向這孩子透露一字半句。）

（2） get one’s tongue round： 準(zhǔn)確地發(fā)音，正確地拼讀

I found it so hard to get my tongue round these French words.

（我發(fā)現(xiàn)要把這些法語字詞準(zhǔn)確地拼讀出來還真不是一件易事。）

8. bosom：胸部

a bosom friend：親密的朋友

Jane and I have been bosom friends for years. We exchange our opinions， thoughts with each other from time to time.

（ 簡和我已是多年的老朋友了。我們時(shí)常在一起談心。
