Look Back：

小牛頓癡迷于手工制作，他精心制做了一架風(fēng)車(chē)，卻遭受欺凌，風(fēng)車(chē)被摔壞了。他非常憤怒，下決心努力學(xué)習(xí)。聰明的牛頓確實(shí)做到了。上中學(xué)以后，他覺(jué)得課本內(nèi)容簡(jiǎn)單，于是整日沉默寡言，腦子里一直在思考什么。班上的同學(xué)看他不愛(ài)講話，又嘲笑他是個(gè)小呆子。牛頓會(huì)如何反應(yīng)呢？他在思考什么問(wèn)題呢？請(qǐng)繼續(xù)欣賞來(lái)自江蘇省常熟市實(shí)驗(yàn)小學(xué)的同學(xué)們的精彩表演。

Newton ignored everything. He often thought about all kinds of problems. One morning，on his way to school，he found wherever he went，his shadow was always on the left under the sun.

Newton：It’s so strange. Why is my shadow always on the left？

When he went home in the afternoon，he found his shadow was not on the left，it changed to the right.

Newton：Ah ... why did my shadow go to the right again？ That’s weird！

Little Newton was inspired by the sunset. He suddenly understood.

Newton：Got it. Is the time judged by the shadow of the sun？

When he arrived home，he went into his room and stayed busy. After a while，he ran to his grandma with something in his hands.

Newton：Grandma，look at this，this is the sun clock. Here you are.

Grandma：What’s this？ Let me see！ Isn’t it a piece of wood with nails（釘子）？

Newton：Grandma，don’t look down upon the board，this is the sun clock. It can tell you the time.

Grandma：Oh？ So amazing？

Newton：Grandma，please look carefully！ I point the sun clock at the sun. Then，find where the shadow of the nail stops on the line，and we can know the time.

Grandma：Oh，what a clever boy. It’s amazing.

When Newton was 14 years old，because of poverty，he had to leave school and worked with his mum at home. But whenever he had free time，he would read and study.

One day，A big wind came.

Mom：Newton，the wind is so fierce，please go and check whether the barn（谷倉(cāng)） door was locked.

Newton：All right，mom，I’ll go right now.

But Newton did not return for a long time.

Mom：What’s the matter with the boy？ He has been there for a long time. Is there something wrong？ I’d better go and have a look.

Mom was very worried. She wrapped her scarf and fought the wind to the barn. When she got there，she was stunned. The door fell to the ground and Newton was running outside. Mom shouted to Newton angrily.

Mom：Newton，what are you doing now？ Why don’t you lock the barn door？

Newton：Mom，I’m measuring the speed of the wind. Look，wind helps me run a long way.

This deeply touched his mom. She understood at once.

Mom：Newton is unfit for farm work. No matter how poor we are，I should send him back to school. He should continue his study.

Newton returned to school，and studied hard.

In June 1661，Newton became a student at Trinity College，Cambridge（劍橋大學(xué)三一學(xué)院）. He studied hard and made outstanding achievements in physics. He built the classical system，which was named Newtonian mechanics（牛頓力學(xué)）.He made great contributions to the world，and became one of the most important figures in the history of science.
