In the United States，911 for emergencies is engrained in us from early childhood.Most countries have a 911 equivalent.Do you know the number for your host country?You should.If you don't think you'll remember it，program it into your phone or write it down and keep it in your wallet.

Political/Civil Unrest

Some of the best places to travel are rich with history and culture and often that comes with some dangers.If you should ever find yourself in an unsafe environment while abroad due to political or civil unrest，you'll want to know where the closest embassy is located.Keep your passport on you at all times and get to the embassy as quickly as possible.

Want to Go Home

Whether a family member has an emergency at home or you are home sick，sometimes going home is the best answer.Your trip organizer most likely has protocol for this need，but your travel insurance will help you get there.Make sure you have your policy details and your trip contracts.All of these will help organize your early trip home.

◆典句賞析

1.But just in case you do run into trouble of some kind，it's important to know how to deal with it to keep yourself safe.但要是萬一你碰到了某種麻煩，重要的是要知道該怎么做才能保證自己的安全。

in case是固定搭配，意為“萬一；以防”，引導的是讓步狀語從句。it是形式主語，真正的主語是后面的動詞不定式；how to deal with it等同于how you should deal with it。
