Xi Jinping Meets President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey

On July 2， 2019， President Xi Jinping held talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey in Beijing.

Xi Jinping noted that the two countries should consolidate the political foundation underlying the development of the China-Turkey strategic cooperative relations to keep bilateral relations on a healthy and stable track， and should take concrete measures to promote counter-terrorism cooperation. The Chinese side appreciates Recep Tayyip Erdogans reiteration on many occasions about not allowing anti-China separatist activities instigated by any force in Turkey， and highly values the repeated emphasis by the Turkish side on supporting the Chinese sides counter-terrorism efforts. The Chinese side is ready to strengthen cooperation with the Turkish side in the field of international counter-terrorism.

Since Turkey is an important partner in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative， the Chinese side is willing to， together with the Turkish side， move faster in dovetailing the Belt and Road Initiative with the Middle Corridor project， steadily promote cooperation in trade， investment， science and technology， energy， infrastructure， and major projects， and actively seek cooperation in small and mediumsized programs.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that close bilateral relations are significant for regional peace and prosperity. The Turkish side will not allow anyone to drive a wedge into its relations with China. Turkey resolutely opposes extremism， and is ready to increase political mutual trust and strengthen security cooperation with China.

“The development opportunities brought by 5G should be shared by the world rather than be monopolized and controlled by a certain party. The Chinese side is willing to encourage its enterprises to share their innovation achievements in 5G with other countries in a bid to jointly raise the level of the global telecommunication industry and benefit the people in more countries. The Chinese side looks forward to cooperating in more innovative areas with the Polish side to inject new connotations into the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.”

Xi Jinping Holds Talks with President Rumen Radev of Bulgaria

On July 3， 2019， President Xi Jinping held talks with President Rumen Radev of Bulgaria in Beijing. The two heads of state agreed to elevate China-Bulgaria relations to a strategic partnership.

Xi Jinping stressed that the two sides should respect and trust each other and strengthen exchanges between their governments， legislative bodies， and political parties while continuing to provide firm mutual support on issues involving each others core interests and major concerns. Bulgaria is also one of the first Central and Eastern European countries to sign inter-governmental cooperation documents with China on the Belt and Road Initiative. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen the synergy between the two countriesdevelopment strategies， promote infrastructure connectivity， expand trade and investment， cement people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as carry forward traditional friendship.

Rumen Radev said that as the Belt and Road Initiative is conducive to world peace and prosperity， the Bulgarian side is ready to fully participate in it by giving full play to its advantages of location in the region and trying to become a gateway and hub connecting Europe and Asia. The Bulgarian side is willing to expand exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side.

Li Keqiang Attends the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2019

On the morning of July 2， 2019， Premier Li Keqiang attended the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2019 in Dalian and delivered a speech.

Li Keqiang pointed out that it is crucial that countries remain committed to the general direction of economic globalization， and advance trade and investment liberalization and facilitation. At the same time， we need to improve institutional arrangements to promote equal rights， equal opportunities， and fair rules for all so as to achieve mutually beneficial， balanced， and inclusive development.

In the face of the downward trends in the world economy， countries need to renew the spirit of partnership， maintain equal consultations， seek common ground while shelving or managing our differences， and forge synergies. The authority and efficacy of the rule-based， WTO-centered multilateral trading system should be respected and safeguarded.

Li Keqiang stressed that China will unswervingly focus on development as its top priority. To this end， China must effectively implement the macro policy measures it has introduced. This does not mean that it will resort to massive stimulus measures， or return to the old approach of expansion in scale and inefficient growth. China will continue to deepen reforms to foster a world-class， market-oriented business environment governed by law and further invigorate all market entities.
