This year, the Mid-Autumn Festival is on
September 13. On this night, people can see the round and bright moon in the sky.
The full moon stands for(象征) a gathering(團(tuán)聚) of families.
On the Mid-Autumn Festival, people have a
big family dinner. There are fruits, vegetables and crabs(螃蟹) at the meal. After dinner, people eat tasty(美味的) mooncakes and enjoy the moon. They light(點(diǎn)亮) lanterns(燈籠). Kids like guessing lantern riddles(猜燈謎) and listening to the stories of the moon.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is also the time to
celebrate(慶祝) the harvest(豐收). Farmers have a lot of fruit, like grapes and apples.
over the moon是“欣喜若狂”的意思。例如:
Tom is over the moon about his new bike.
湯姆有了輛新自行車,他真是高興極了。
She’s over the moon about her new baby.
她生了個小寶寶,真是高興極了。
