Upon entering the cafe, I saw a group of people ordering at the front desk. Just as I tried to ask who is Wang Qiudan, I heard a sweet and soft voice and I immediately knew that she is Wang Qiudan: the woman who indeed deserve the reputation of "Lin Chi-ling of Chongqing Airlines".

I’m really from Chongqing

Ever since she has officially joined Chongqing Airlines for more than one year, Wang Qiudan has been used to being asked by tourists where her hometown is. Wang Qiudan has explained a million times for her innate voice: "I am really a native Chongqing girl."

Even though Wang Qiudan's Chongqing dialect sounds very soft, I'm still curious about her working state by using Mandarin, so I insisted on her doing so. While talking and laughing, she suddenly gave me a surprise: "Madam, could you please help me with my coffee?" Even if I was quite psychologically prepared, I still couldn't help having gooseflesh all over my body after hearing her voice. I have to admit that she indeed is worthy of the name "Lin Chi-ling of Chongqing Airlines".

Seeing my reaction, Wang Qiudan laughed loudly. "I knew that's how you would react. I am quite clear that my voice is more soft when saying Mandarin than saying Chongqing dialect, but I can't do anything about it."

Wang Qiudan attributes her special voice to the inheritance from her mother. It was just because her mother's "coquettish" Mandarin that her father was fascinated and made a pass at her. "My father is a typical fanatic of voice and he is always gentle as long as he hears my mother's voice."

Due to her sweet voice, Wang Qiudan often receives goodwill from passengers during her work. What impressed her most was a note from a passenger saying, "Thank you for your beautiful voice to let me enjoy my wonderful journey." The passenger did not meet Wang Qiudan in the subsequent flight when taking the Chongqing Airlines, so he specially entrusted the flight attendant at that time to transfer the note to Wang Qiudan. Wang Qiudan was overjoyed by the compliment. "If my voice can bring beautiful memories to the passengers, I would like to say something more on the flight in the future," she said.

Voice is the best communication

With "sweet voice", Wang Qiudan always gives people the impression of "gentle" and this has brought a lot of advantages for Wang Qiudan's work, because many chief attendants would take advantage of it. For example, the broadcasting is usually made by the firstclass flight attendants, but soon after Wang Qiudan became the flight attendant, she was marked out by the chief flight attendant as the broadcaster, hoping that her unique voice could soothe passengers agitated by the flight delay.

When telephone follow-up is needed, Wang Qiudan is always the No.1 choice. In her impression, the highest record she had made was that she called more than 140 passengers for telephone follow-up alone in a single day and she felt that she was "unable to move her tongue" after the work.

Prior to boarding, the crew would always receive a list detailing whether the boarding passengers have complained for any reason. Wang Qiudan has been assigned to pay special attention to the passengers for several times, but she found that the passengers were easy to communicate with after contact. Though the reasons may vary, Wang Qiudan still hopes that her voice will do something useful to make the passengers feel comfortable in the bottom of their hearts.

Open a door for the work by the voice

Although Wang Qiudan has joined Chongqing Airlines for only one and a half years, her reputation as "Lin Chi-ling of Chongqing Airlines" has become far more famous than her name "Wang Qiudan".

Every month, the flight attendants will organize an assessment meeting, that is, the flight attendants will simulate the corresponding scenes to make correct and wrong responses to the problems in practice through a "Small beautiful class" teaching video, and Wang Qiudan is the one who plays the correct demonstrative action.

Although Wang Qiudan thinks this is mainly because of her own voice, she still likes it very much and regards it as an important channel for learning.

As the video aired, her voice became more and more popular in the interior of Chongqing Airlines, allowing many of her colleagues to get to know her. During the flight, although it is the first time to work with many of the colleagues,we will find common topic and get to know each other quickly.

Of course, what the sweet voice brings is not all advantages, she is often questioned and mistaken as "pretentious". For people's questioning her, Wang Qiudan neither worries nor avoids intentionally. "People has their own judgement, and they will know what kind of person I am after they get along with me for a long time. Though my voice is an advantage for me in the flight, I've done pretty good in my work. So there is no need to worry about it, nor need I deliberately explain it too much."
