The bus stopped at the museum.
Arthur’s class got off.
Arthur started to run up the steps.
“Stop!” shouted Mr. Ratburn.
“You must all stay with me. I don’t want anyone getting lost.”
校車在博物館前停穩(wěn),同學(xué)們挨個(gè)從車上走下來。
亞瑟飛快地跑上了臺(tái)階。
“等一下!”舒老師大聲喊,“大家一定要跟著老師走,我可不希望有誰走丟!”
“Today we will visit the Hall of America,”said Mr. Ratburn.
Arthur raised his hand.
“Save your question, Arthur,
until we get there,” said his teacher.
“Now follow me, boys and girls.”
“今天咱們要重點(diǎn)參觀的是美國歷史展廳?!笔胬蠋熣f。
亞瑟舉起手來。
“等一下再提問,亞瑟,我們進(jìn)去再說。”舒老師說,“現(xiàn)在,大家跟我進(jìn)去吧。”
They walked by the Hall of Dinosaurs.
Arthur raised his hand again.
“No, Arthur, we do not have time for the
dinosaurs today,” said Mr. Ratburn.
“That’s not what I wanted to ask,” mumbled Arthur.
But his teacher just kept walking.
他們從恐龍展廳經(jīng)過。
亞瑟又舉起手來。
“不行,亞瑟,我們今天可沒時(shí)間看恐龍?!笔胬蠋熣f。
“我不是想說這個(gè)?!眮喩÷曕止?。
可惜舒老師只顧朝前走。

“Here we are,” said Mr. Ratburn.
“The rooms in here tell the story of our country.
You’ll see how Indians lived before the Pilgrims came,” he said.
Arthur raised his hand again.
“Okay, Arthur,” said Mr. Ratburn. “What is your question?”
“May I go to the bathroom?” Arthur asked.Everyone laughed.
“就是這兒了,”舒老師說,“這間展廳展示了我們國家的歷史,大家可以看到印第安人在歐洲清教徒到來之前是怎樣生活的?!?/p>
亞瑟又舉起手來。
“好吧,亞瑟,”舒老師說,“你有什么問題?”
“我可以去衛(wèi)生間嗎?”亞瑟問。
孩子們哄堂大笑。
“Yes, Arthur,” said Mr. Ratburn.
“The boys’ room is around the corner. It’s the first door on your left.”
“可以,亞瑟,”舒老師回答,“男衛(wèi)生間在拐角那邊,左手第一個(gè)門?!?/p>
Arthur ran down the hall.
He turned the corner and went into the first door —on the right.
亞瑟跑過大廳,轉(zhuǎn)過拐角,走進(jìn)了第一個(gè)門—右手那個(gè)。

“It sure is dark in here,” said Arthur to himself.
He saw another door.
“Maybe the toilets are in here,” he said.
“這里面可真黑呀!”亞瑟自言自語地說。
他又看到了另一扇門,心想:“這里可能是衛(wèi)生間?!?/p>
He opened the door and stepped into a room filled with Indians sitting by a tepee.
“Help!” he screamed.
亞瑟推開門走進(jìn)房間,看見一些印第安人坐在帳篷旁邊。
“救命?。 眮喩蠛?。
Then he saw that the Indians were not alive.
They were models.
One wall was glass. And there was Mr.
Ratburn telling his class about the Indians.
But no one was listening to him.
They were all laughing and pointing at
Arthur with the Indians.
很快,亞瑟就發(fā)現(xiàn)那些印第安人不是真的。
它們只不過是一些人物模型。
這個(gè)房間有一面墻是玻璃的,舒老師正在外面給同學(xué)們講解印第安人的歷史,可惜誰都沒聽他說什么。
每個(gè)同學(xué)都指著印第安人的模型和亞瑟笑得前仰后合。
