1、An overview of China's clothing development

1.1 historical connotation of clothing culture

China is known as the "Kingdom of clothes",which has created countless exquisite clothes.

Xia,Shang and Zhou Dynasties:the rated development of social productivity in the Yin and Shang Dynasties prompted clothing to form its inherent system. Spring and Autumn period and Warring States Period:there are different styles in clothing,with "deep clothing" appearing,and significant changes in color. Qin and Han Dynasties:the types and styles of clothing are more abundant. Clothing embodies a more strict hierarchy and establishes a more complete clothing system. Sui and Tang Dynasties:LAPEL SUIT,striped trousers,and walking belt. Song Dynasty:clothing generally refers to the clothing popular in Song Dynasty,including the clothing popular in the Northern Song Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty. It is a pearl in the development of clothing history,characterized by self-cultivation and fitness. Yuan Dynasty:mainly robes,robe style,little difference between men and women. Ming Dynasty:Yuan color,yellow and purple are not allowed in clothing color. Qing Dynasty:the style,material,decoration and other aspects of clothing all reflect the characteristics of the compatibility of man and Han and the extreme luxury and prosperity.

2、The value of Chinese traditional dress

2.1. Artistic value

Various aesthetic thoughts are the artistic embodiment of Chinese traditional costume culture. The traditional costume of our country is developing towards the direction of art diversification. In the design,we should fully consider all kinds of artistic factors,and organically combine the point,line,surface and body of the costume.

2.2 humanistic value

In modern design,the designer should consider the aesthetic psychology of Chinese people,through the design in the cultural psychology of the public to achieve emotional appeal which conveys the information and content can let the audience immediately understand,to achieve the ultimate goal of Confucius as the representative of the Confucian Aesthetic Thought emphasizing the unity of "beauty" and "good".

3、The combination of traditional clothing elements and modern clothing design

3.1 combination of traditional clothing elements and modern clothing design

The combination design of traditional culture and modern dress design has no national boundaries. For the integration of Chinese and Western culture,it is not simply adding or mixing,but integrating different cultures into the design to show the design through the nature of the phenomenon.

4、conclusion

The application of Chinese elements in fashion design is based on the traditional culture,which can not be separated from the support of the national culture. Chinese traditional aesthetics provides a lot of nutrients and experience for Chinese designers.
