1 Solothurn is a small town in the North-West of Switzerland. The town was founded by the Romans more than 2000 years ago.

索洛圖恩是位于瑞士西北部的一個小鎮(zhèn)。2000年前，羅馬人建造了這個小鎮(zhèn)。

In the past, people here worked on the farm. But nowadays most people are working in companies.

過去，索洛圖恩人在農(nóng)場工作。但現(xiàn)在，大部分人都去公司里工作了。

4 The town has a special affinity for the number 11. There are 11 churches, 11 fountains, 11 museums and 11 banks. It is believed that the number 11 represents “hope.”

Besides that, there are many clocks in the town which only have number 1 to number 11 on the dials.

這個小鎮(zhèn)特別愛數(shù)字11—小鎮(zhèn)里有11座教堂，11座噴泉，11座博物館和11家銀行。人們相信數(shù)字11象征“希望”。

此外，鎮(zhèn)上許多鐘的表盤上只有數(shù)字1到11。

5 The Solothurn Cathedral is an ancient building. It has been rebuilt several times since 1294. It is constructed from white stone.

The cathedral has a single large bell tower. The bell tower has an onion-shaped copper dome. The dome can be seen from all around the town.

索洛圖恩大教堂是一個古建筑。自1294年以來，它已經(jīng)重建了好幾次。整個教堂是用白色石頭建造的。

這座大教堂只有一座大鐘樓，鐘樓有一個洋蔥形的銅圓頂，從鎮(zhèn)上各處都能看到這個圓頂。
