Original-state Display

The original-state display is a very distinctive exhibition way of the Palace Museum， also known as the Forbidden City. As early as the 1950s， the museum began to place furnishings in their original places， the forerunner of the original-state display.

Based on archives of the museum and related cultural relics， curators selected certain historical periods that could be fully depicted before restoring them in the ancient buildings. The practice seeks to recreate scenes of emperors handling political affairs and court life as accurately as possible to immerse visitors in a strong Chinese historical and cultural atmosphere.

50th Anniversary of Return to the United Nation

On October 25， 1971， the 26th United Nation General Assembly passed Resolution 2758 by an overwhelming majority， restoring all rights of the Peoples Republic of China in the United Nations and recognizing that the representatives of the Government of the Peoples Republic of China are the only legitimate representatives of China in the United Nations.

Since then， Chinas diplomacy has welcomed a new age， being devoted to the international multilateral arena with a more active， positive， and open attitude. A series of efforts continuously improved Chinas prestige and role in the United Nations.

In 776 B.C.， the ancient Greeks held the first ancient Olympic Games. In 104 B.C.， China formalized the Taichu Calendar， setting the Spring Festival as the beginning of every year. In the early spring of 2022， when China celebrates the 2，126th Spring Festival， the 24th modern Winter Olympic Games will open in Beijing， the first city ever to host both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. The event presents a great opportunity for Eastern and Western civilizations to mutually understand， exchange， and improve hand in hand with each other.

The Suzhou Case

In terms of GDP in the first half of this year， Suzhou in Jiangsu Province ranked sixth among all Chinese cities. Suzhou is an outlier on the top 10 list as the only prefectural-level city to make it.

As early as 2020， Suzhou saw its GDP break the two trillion yuan （about US$313 billion） mark for the first time. Suzhous past development， current construction， and future transformation are almost indicators of the Chinese economy. Therefore， the answer how Suzhou can break through the “growth ceiling” after its GDP reaches the threshold of two trillion yuan matters not only for the city but for the country， too.
