森林里將要舉辦一場5千米跑步比賽（running race），Harry、Polly和Allen三個好朋友都報名參加了。Harry和Allen每天都辛苦地訓練，卻不見Polly的身影。Polly去干什么了？他能在跑步比賽中發(fā)揮好嗎？Lets read the story.

“Look！” says Harry. “Theres going to be a running race.

Im going to enter（加入）.”

“Me， too，” says Allen.

Notice：

● a running race

● five thousand meters

● on August 15th

Hope you will join us！

“How about you， Polly？”

asks Allen.

“Sure，” says Polly.

“Five thousand meters（5千米）will be easy for me.”

“Im going to start training（開始訓練） now，” says Harry.

“Me， too，” says Allen.

“How about you， Polly？”

“Ill start my training tomorrow morning，” says Polly.

The next morning comes.

But Polly cant get up.

“Ill start my training in the afternoon，” he says to himself.

And he goes back to sleep.

After supper， Polly watches a TV show.

“I can start training tomorrow morning，” he says.

On the next morning， Polly sees Harry and Allen running.

But he sees his mother making pancakes（烤餅）.

“Ill start training till this afternoon，” says Polly.

That afternoon， Pollys uncle comes.

“Who wants to go to the cinema with me？” he asks.

“I do！” says Polly.

On the way to the cinema， Harry meets Polly.

“I can run three thousand meters now. How about you， Polly？” asks Harry.

“I will start my training tomorrow，” says Polly.
