After my arrival in China in 2005, I had the good fortune to meet a few of the old foreign experts who had contributed to China’s struggle in the War of Resistance to Japanese Aggression and in the founding the the People’s Republic of China. Unfortunately, by the time of my arrival, only a very few were still alive. But I have also been able to meet many of the Chinese spouses, children and even some of the grandchildren of these international friends.
Later I had the honor of helping to provide platforms for these relatives to speak about their ancestors’ contributions to China’s development before audiences at several universities. I have also had the opportunity to do some presentations about them myself.
