A humanoid robot has landed a jobworking with humans at a factory for thefirst time. Apollo has two arms， two legs andtwo eyes and is an average2 human heightof 172 cm. The robot’s job is to lift boxesand containers3 and move them around thefactory， but its designer4， Apptronik， says inthe future it could be used to do housework.

While robots are already used to helpdoctors and police officers in training andvacuum5 the floor， Apollo is the firsthuman-like robot to be put to work in ahuman job. Apptronik said the robot wasgiven arms and legs to help people feelmore comfortable6 working with it. Therobot only does easy jobs at the moment，but it can do more and more.

Apollo may even one day helpwith housework. At the moment，Apollo’s battery7 only lasts fourhours， which means it does the workhalf day. While its human co-workerswork eight hours a day. Last year， areport said humanoid robots could beaffordable8 for use in factoriesbetween 2025 to 2028， and in homesbetween 2030 and 2035.
