游余

When I was a boy， we lived across a rlver from the main road. The only way to get to our house was across an old， wooden bridge. We also lived right next to Camp Caesar which hosted camps all summer long. And the best thing about it was there was a publicl swimming pool.I remember spending almost every day of my summers at that pool.1 would be there when the pool opened at 1 p.m. and would swim until it closed at 5.Usually my brothers and a lot of my friends would be there， too. We had so much fun laughing， playing， swimming， splashing2， and going off the diving3 board.

當(dāng)我還是個孩子的時候，我們住在與大路隔著一條河的地方。到我們家唯一的途徑是穿過一座古老的木橋。我們還住在凱撒營旁邊，整個夏天那里都在舉辦夏令營。最棒的是它有一個公共游泳池。我記得夏天我?guī)缀趺刻於寂菰谀莻€游泳池里。下午1點游泳池開放時，我會在那里游泳，直到下午5點關(guān)閉。通常我的兄弟和很多朋友也會去那里。我們歡笑、玩耍、游泳、潑水，從跳水板上蹦下來，大家都玩得很開心。

One time， however，I went to the pool to find it crowded4 with strangers. None of my friends were there and most people were parents with children.I stayed for a while but felt lonely.I left early and walked home sad and sulkys.

When I got to the wooden bridge， I saw my one friend who was never allowed at the pool. He stood on the bridge with his face smiling and his tail wagging6. It was my dog，Doobie， patiently7 waiting for me to come home. I hurried across the bridge to hug him.And then we both ran down to the river near our house to swim.We jumped into the cold， clear water. We swam around each other. We played happily that day. During all of those summers that I spent swlmming as a boy， that is the day I remember the most.

The summers in this life fly by so fast. They are too precious8 to waste a moment feeling sad or sulky. Spend your days here like my dear dog Doobie did： sharing love and scattering9 joy. And as you swim down this river of life， always remember that lovewaits for you at its end.
