On August 14， the 2024 Shanghai Book Fair and “Reading China” Shanghai Week opened at the Shanghai Exhibition Center， drawing a large crowd. This year marks the 20th session of the Shanghai Book Fair. Since its inception in 2004， the fair has grown from its early stages through expansion and upgrades， becoming one of China’s most important venues for launching new books， a trendsetter in reading for the public， and one of the most influential book fairs in the country.
