I think our school days are the best and happiest days in our life. We should learn not to waste this wonderful period of time.
Be positive (積極的). Don’t say things are difficult or boring. We should be interested in the school life and school subjects. We should join lots of activities. 1
Study hard right now. Some students always say that they will study hard tomorrow. Actually, if we fall behind, it’s very difficult for us to catch up. 2 Tomorrow never comes. There is no time like the present. What’s more, arrange (安排) our time reasonably. If we don’t study hard now, we will regret wasting our best time in the future.
Ask for help. Sometimes although you listen to the teachers carefully, you still can’t get good grades. This may make you hate studying. If you need help, the most important thing you should know is that there’s nothing embarrassing about it. 3 And everyone needs other people’s help. The first person you should turn to is your teacher. You can also get some help from your classmates.
Keep fit. We need to have a good breakfast so that we won’t be hungry in class. 4 In order to keep our body fit, we should also do some sports. We’d better make sure to do outdoor exercise for an hour every day.
Don’t be too disappointed if something goes wrong. Everyone fails in some tests, loses some matches or has some bad days. 5 We should try not to let small things affect our mood.
A. Don’t waste time worrying about the past.
B. No one is expected to understand everything.
C. Never put off till tomorrow what may be done today.
D. It will make us look friendly if we walk around the school with a smile.
E. We need to go to bed early and get enough sleep, or we’ll feel sleepy in class.

According to a research, more than 130 billion pounds of uneaten food go to waste in Laura’s country each year. 1 It is a sad fact, especially when you consider how many families and homeless people are in hunger.
When Laura saw her school dining hall throw away food that was not eaten at all every day,she came up with an idea. She started a project to help her school dining hall to give away uneaten food to homeless shelters(庇護(hù)所) in her community. In the past three years, the same project has spread to other schools and some fast food restaurants throughout the city. 2
3 Through an app, Feed amp; Find matches local homeless shelters with school dining halls and restaurants that have uneaten food to provide. When dining halls or restaurants have uneaten food left, they can use the app to share the information about the food. A truck driver working for the project is then sent to pick it up and take it to a shelter.
Pretty cool, right? It’s not surprising that people in other cities have got in touch with Laura. 4
Some people, however, have concerns about the safety of the uneaten food. They think such food may not be clean enough. Still, this project is a clever way to help solve the problem of food waste and it helps those in need.
A. How does it work?
B. That is about 30% of the yearly food supply(供應(yīng)).
