1．…Icantgo home without you．沒有你我就不能回家。

這是一個雙重否定的句式(not…without)，實際上表達(dá)的是肯定意義。例如：

The girl went to school without breakfast．那個女孩沒吃早飯就去上學(xué)了。

相關(guān)鏈接此句型有時可與if引導(dǎo)的條件狀語從句(if…not…，…)互換使用。

例如：I cant do it without your help. 沒有你的幫助，我干不了這事。

=If you dont help me，I cant do it．

2．The Taiwan earthquake killed thousands of people．臺灣大地震使數(shù)以千計的人喪生。

thousand是個數(shù)詞，當(dāng)數(shù)量是一個具體數(shù)字時，thousand后不加“s”，也不加of介詞；但是當(dāng)數(shù)量是一個不具體數(shù)字時，thousand后要加上“s”，且thousands后

還得加of介詞，表示“數(shù)以千計的”。類似的詞還有hundred，million。例如：

There are about three hundred people in the hall．大廳里大約有三百人。

There are thousands of students on the playground．操場上有好幾千個學(xué)生。

3．I could not see at all and I did not know if anyone was around me．我什么都看不見，也不知道我的周圍是否有人。

not…at all是一個有用的句型，意思是“一點也不、根本不”，主要用來加強(qiáng)語氣。

例如：He does not like football at all．他一點也不喜歡足球。

相關(guān)鏈接單獨使用的Not at all．在口語中意為“別客氣”、“不用謝”，用來回答感謝或道歉。例如：

——Thank you very much for your help．非常感謝你的幫助。

——Not at all．不用謝。

4．Dont forget to lock the door．不要忘了鎖門。

forget to do sth.意為“忘記要做某事”，表示事情還沒做。例如：

I forgot to tell him．我忘了告訴他。

相關(guān)鏈接forget doing sth.意為“忘記了做過某事”，表示事情已經(jīng)做了。試比較：

I forgot to tell her the news．我忘記告訴她這個消息了。

I forgot telling her the news．我忘記曾告訴過她這個消息。

5．I shared an umbrella with Millie．我和米莉共用一把傘。

share sth． (with sb．)表示“(與某人)分享／合用某物”，這是動詞share的常用句型。

例如：Shesharesmytroublesandjoys．她與我同甘共苦。

I share a room with my brother．我和我弟弟合住一個房間。

6．We could do nothing but walk slowly in the storm．我們除了在暴風(fēng)雨中慢慢走之外，什么事也不能干。

nothing but意為“僅僅、只有……才”。do nothing but后跟不帶to的不定式。

例如：

The boys want to do nothing but play football．男孩們只想踢足球。

Last night I did nothing but watch TV．昨天晚上，我除了看電視別的什么也沒有干。

溫馨提示如果but之前的動詞不是do的時候，but的后面就不能接動詞原形，而要接帶to的動詞不定式。例如：

The doctor told him nothing but to stop smoking．醫(yī)生除了讓他戒煙，其它什么都沒有說。

There was nothing for them to do but to remain silent．除了保持沉默以外，他們沒有別的辦法。
