One winter holiday, I bought a new kite. I flew it by the roadside because there was no fields or playground nearby. However, my father soon caught me.
“Dont fly your kite by the roadside,” he said. “Its very dangerous!” I did not obey my father. When he was away, I took out my kite to fly again.
Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew the kite across the road. A man on a bicycle did not see the kite-string and rode right onto it. He was so surprised that he fell off his bicycle.
Quickly, I ran to the man and helped him up. The string had cut the mans neck and his elbows and knees were scratched. “Dont you know its dangerous to fly your kite here?” shouted the angry man.
I took the man to my house. My mother washed and bandaged the mans wounds. She also gave him some money to repair his damaged bicycle. When my father heard what had happened, he was very angry. As a punishment, he took my kite away.
I had learnt a lesson. From then on, I did not dare to fly my kite by the roadside again.
