在初中英語中,表示“看”的動詞主要有see,watch,look,read,它們雖然都可以表示“看”的意思,但它們的用法又是有區(qū)別的?，F(xiàn)小結(jié)如下,以便同學(xué)們學(xué)習(xí)時參考。

一、see 意思為“看見、看到”,常用作及物動詞,后面跟賓語,表示看到某人或某物,強(qiáng)調(diào)看的結(jié)果。例如:

I can see a bird in the sky. 我能看見空中的一只鳥。

Can you see the word?你能看見這個詞嗎?

Do you see a basketball on the playground?你看見操場上的一只籃球了嗎?

注意:see you later表示“再見”; see a film表示“看電影”; see a doctor表示 “看病”。

二、watch 意思是“注視、觀看”,也常用作及物動詞,后面直接跟賓語,表示集中注意力觀看,或注視正在運動中的人或物。例如:

They are watching the basketball game on the playground.他們正在操場上看籃球比賽。

We watched him put on his coat. 我們看著他穿上衣服。

They watched him singing. 他們看著他唱歌。

We watched the bus out of the bus stop. 我們看著那輛汽車駛出了汽車站。

watch也可用作不及物動詞,意思是注視、觀看,或者是當(dāng)心、注意。例如:

He seldom plays basketball, but he likes to watch. 他很少打籃球,但是喜歡看。

We should watch for fires. 我們應(yīng)當(dāng)小心火災(zāi)。

注意:watch TV表示“看電視”;watchdog表示“看門狗、看門人”;watchman表示“巡夜者”。

三、look意思是“看、望”,表示有意識地、認(rèn)真地看,用作不及物動詞。當(dāng)后面接賓語時要加上介詞at。與see相比較,look強(qiáng)調(diào)“看”的動作。例如:

Please look at the blackboard when we answer the questions on the blackboard.當(dāng)我們要回答黑板上的問題時,請看黑板。

What are you looking at?你正在看什么?

We are looking at the boys on the playground. 我們正在看操場上的那些男孩。

注意:look out表示“注意、當(dāng)心、向外看”;look after表示“照顧”;look like表示“看起來像”。例如:

Look out !There is a bike in front of you. 注意,你前面有一輛自行車。

She was looking out just now. 剛才她一直向外看。

She has to look after her little sister. 她不得不照顧她的小妹妹。

Please look after this boy well. 請照顧好這個男孩。

He looks like his father. 他看起來像他的父親。

She looks like a famous star. 她看起來像一個著名的明星。

與look相關(guān)的詞組還有:look for 尋找; look up 查找;look through 瀏覽; look out of 向……外看。

四、read的意思是“讀”,常指看書、讀報等,一般指要弄清其中的意思。例如:

He likes reading in the classroom. 他喜歡在教室里讀書。

I often read newspaper in the evening. 我常常在晚上讀報紙。

Tom is reading a chinese book. 湯姆正在讀一本漢語書。

注意:read還可以接雙賓語。例如:

Our English teacher read us an English poem .我們的英語老師給我們讀了一首英文詩。
