The purpose of keeping fit is to avoid illness, the mental and physical tiredness, and above all to feel more pleasure in being alive. Research has shown the value of a balanced diet, fresh air, sunshine, enough rest and some forms of regular exercise. If everyone followed this advice, the number of people visiting the doctor and going to hospital would surely be reduced.
Unfortunately, although most people know the importance of physical fitness, not enough of us put this into practice. We spend too much time watching others in a comfortable armchair or a seat at a sports stadium.
One reason why people who are physically fit to live longer is that they do not put the heart under overwork and so they reduce the risk of heart and blood vessel(血管)diseases. They also avoid suffering the consequences(后果)of weakened muscles, which are the cause of a great deal of back and abdominal trouble.

I could do that for a few weeks, but what would I do after that? I should have lost my place in the factory and have no money to live on. If it were a little less money, I would buy a new coat, or a radio, or give a dinner to my friends. If it were more, I could give up the work and pay for painting pictures. But its too much for one and too little for the other.”
“Here is the reading of your uncles will(遺囑),” said the lawyer, “telling what is to be done with this money after his death. I must ask you to remember one point. Your uncle has said you must bring me a paper showing exactly what you did with his money as soon as you have spent it.”

Late last summer, I was introduced to a new special someone. We met at an Apple product announcement. She was helpful, smart, and even funny, talking of jokes and making me laugh. What more could a man ask for?
Since then, we have had some major communication issues. She frequently misunderstands what Im saying. Sometimes she is just unavailable(難以使用的). Often, she responds with the same repetitive words. Her name is Siri.
At first, Siri, the voice-activated digital assistant on Apple Iphones, seemed a little too good to be true. Siri cheated me into a relationship promising to help me set up appointments, to gently wake me in the morning for work, and to give me the ability to text someone while I was driving.
It didnt work out that way. “Theres something wrong, and I cant answer your questions right now. Please try again in a little while,” Siri will say when I ask something, or “Im really sorry about this, but I cant take any requests right now. Please try again in a little while.” She is always polite. But Im starting to suspect that “Im really sorry” is just something Siri says to shut me up.
Apple introduced Siri as a beta test, meaning it was still a work in progress. That was unusual for Apple. It wanted a head start. But it doesnt seem ready to change anything yet. Many people I have spoken to have switched Siri off and turned to the iPhones voice dictation service, which is more reliable because it doesnt use Siris artificial intelligence software.
58. How did the author feel when he first met Siri?
A. He felt quite satisfied with her functions.
B. He didnt care what functions she had at all.
D. He felt she was smart but very boring.
C. He felt unsatisfied with her limited functions.
59. What makes the author feel annoyed about Siri later in life?
A. She frequently fails to finish what he wishes for.
B. She often receives some calls from strangers.
C. She always wants him to shut up.
D. She is always out of order.
60. Why do more people choose not to use Siri any longer?
A. Her appearance looks so ugly.
B. She is too polite.
C. Her artificial intelligence software isnt reliable.
D. Apple fails to make more successful advertisements.

It is sometimes said that strange flying objects have been seen high up in the sky. People call these strange objects Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO). These UFOs caused a lot of interest. Some of the reports about them are difficult to believe. Some have been explained in scientific ways. Others have never been explained. Here is a story of UFO from a report.
Dennis Burdens, who wrote an article, told us that he once saw a UFO himself. He was having dinner one night with a friend near Tripoli, Libya, and after dinner the two men walked across a yard to his room to read some papers. Burdens noticed that the moon looked strange that night. “It wasnt the moon,” he said.
They watched the light and saw that it was moving. It seemed to be an object rather like a big plate. In some ways it looked like smoke with a light on it, but it wasnt smoke because it didnt change its shape. It was moving in a regular way. That is to say, it didnt go suddenly faster or more slowly, and it didnt go higher or lower. So the two men decided that there must be men in it.
After that, Burdens said that he felt eyes looking at him. He was being watched in the darkness. When it was nearer, they noticed that the bottom parts were brighter than the top. The bottom was yellow and the top red. Then the object suddenly turned away and left Libya, moving very fast.
On a later day Burdens talked to other people about it, and he found some who had seen it. They all described it in the same way. Could they all mistake it?
