英國(guó)蒙哥馬利展覽集團(tuán)將在今年秋天推出全新的愛(ài)爾蘭食品與招待展。這個(gè)展會(huì)將融合蒙哥馬利集團(tuán)最近收購(gòu)的SHOP食品展,于9月18-19日在皇家都柏林學(xué)院地區(qū)舉辦。

最近,英國(guó)展覽行業(yè)的從業(yè)者受“展覽新聞”網(wǎng)站的邀請(qǐng),參加在6月7日舉辦的小組討論。本次小組討論的核心話題是公信度,議題名稱(chēng)為“當(dāng)輪子掉落后,卡車(chē)如何行駛”。討論范圍涵蓋對(duì)從業(yè)者健康與安全有關(guān)的財(cái)政話題,公司結(jié)構(gòu)臨時(shí)組建,天氣與公共交通等影響展覽行業(yè)的因素。

Cebit會(huì)議結(jié)構(gòu)更清晰
隨著德國(guó)漢諾威電子信息及通信技術(shù)博覽會(huì)(Cebit)的舉辦日期臨近,主辦方Deutsche Messe 公司希望該展會(huì)能夠有一定的增長(zhǎng),成為一個(gè)專(zhuān)業(yè)的B2B平臺(tái)。展會(huì)主辦方將為VIP買(mǎi)家提供更有針對(duì)性的服務(wù),并舉辦豐富的會(huì)議活動(dòng)。展會(huì)上亦將設(shè)立招聘與創(chuàng)業(yè)專(zhuān)區(qū)。同期舉辦的全球電子信息及通信技術(shù)大會(huì)將包含一千多場(chǎng)研討會(huì)、講座、論壇,并且分類(lèi)將更為明晰,以便觀眾參與。在未來(lái),展會(huì)舉辦時(shí)間將為周一至周五,不再是傳統(tǒng)意義上的周二至周六。2014年,展會(huì)舉辦時(shí)間從3月10日至14日,一些新的服務(wù)也將陸續(xù)推出。例如,展會(huì)觀眾可以免費(fèi)連接展館內(nèi)外的無(wú)線局域網(wǎng),而不必在60歐元的每日門(mén)票外額外交費(fèi)。(蘇希玲)
倫敦可食用菜蔬展搬至新館
英國(guó)倫敦可食用菜蔬展在2014年搬入亞歷山大中心之前,參展觀眾數(shù)量超過(guò)兩萬(wàn)名。展會(huì)主辦方希望,在搬至新的展館后,參展商數(shù)量較上屆有三分之一的增長(zhǎng),達(dá)到225名。英國(guó)廣播公司著名主持人Christine Walkden亦將列席本次展會(huì)的演講嘉賓。
根據(jù)數(shù)據(jù)統(tǒng)計(jì)機(jī)構(gòu)Defra的最新數(shù)據(jù),英國(guó)家庭有5%的新鮮果蔬是通過(guò)超市以外的渠道購(gòu)買(mǎi)的,例如直接從菜園里購(gòu)買(mǎi)。而這一數(shù)據(jù)在2008年只有不到3%。此外,在英國(guó),自己種植蔬菜的人從去年同期的34%上升到目前的43%。(蘇希玲)
Fresh Montgomery launches Food and Hospitality Ireland show
The Irish arm of Fresh Montgomery is launching a new Food and Hospitality Ireland trade show this Autumn. The inaugural event will be incorporating the organisers recently acquired SHOP food show, held on 18-19 September at the Royal Dublin Society Arena.
“Our focus is on delivering an event that really exceeds both exhibitors and visitors expectations,” said general manager of Irish Services Montgomery, Tim Graham.” We have utilised all of the experience of Fresh Montgomery and married it with the best elements of SHOP to create the inaugural Food & Hospitality Ireland event.”
The Restaurants Association of Ireland is working with the organiser to develop its Chefs Table feature, showcasing the very best of local produce. The show will also feature the Spotlight Stage, featuring interactive discussions, presentations and cast a spotlight on the key topics in food, retail and hospitality. The show will feature two award ceremonies this year. The Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland will host their awards where hundreds of butchers descend on the Industries Hall to discover which butchers shop will take home the coveted ‘Shop of the Year title.
The show is also in partnership with the first-ever Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards. “Since we launched the show, theres been incredible interest from a wide section of companies and were hoping to have a full capacity event come September,” said Graham. (Richard Liu)
Edible Garden Show moved to new place
The organiser of the Edible Garden Show is expecting more t h a n 2 0 , 0 0 0 visitors over the three-day event ahead of its move to Alexandra Palace in 2014.
The show hopes to boost its exhibitor numbers by a third taking the number to around 225 for the event, which moves to the iconic London venue in March 2014. Christine Walkden from BBCs The One Show has also joined the lineup of celebrity speakers.
Latest official statistics from Defra show five per cent of all fresh fruit and vegetables consumed in UK homes came from free sources, mainly gardens and allotments. This compares to just under three per cent in 2008. The percentage of garden owners who grow their own fruit and vegetables has risen to 43 per cent, up from 34 per cent over the same period. The Edible Garden Show will be staged at Alexandra Palace, London, from 28 to 30 March. (Celion Su)

The events industry was invited to attend the second Exhibition News Silverstone Race Day on Friday 7 June and contribute to the panel discussion.
Tackling the thorny issue of accountability, the debate was entitled “When the wheels come off, who carries the can?”. This may include financial implications relating to health and safety, temporary structures, weather and public transport issues.
Exhibition and event professionals who have faced these issues could have their voices heard in person or by sending in their comments and questions via email or Twitter. EN managing editor Scott Birch hosted the discussion. Following the debate, attendees were given the chance to get behind the wheel on the famous F1 circuit. (Zhou Lu)
Clear positioning Cebit
With closer tie-ins between the Cebit exhibition and conference programmes, Deutsche Messe in Hanover is aiming to boost the shows growth – as a strictly B2B trade fair. The recruitment and career starters segment is in line for significant expansion, while the extensive range of Cebit Global Conferences featuring well over 1,000 seminars, lectures and in-hall forums will be more clearly structured and easier to navigate. In the future the fair will be held from Monday to Friday, switching from the traditional Tuesday to Saturday run. This means that in 2014 Cebit will open on March 10 and welcome visitors through March 14. Some new services have also been introduced. For example visitors are able to use the WLAN network free of charge on the fairground and in the halls. All this comes at a price: the Cebit single-day admission ticket costs60. (Celion Su)

泰國(guó)競(jìng)標(biāo)舉辦2020年世界博覽會(huì)遭拒
日前,由于缺少政府支持,目前泰國(guó)競(jìng)標(biāo)舉辦2020年世界博覽會(huì)的努力以失敗告終。2010年,泰國(guó)民主黨的競(jìng)標(biāo)努力未得到首相的支持。首相稱(chēng),由于舉辦世博會(huì)的成本巨大(約為十三億至十六億美元),因此需要慎重考慮回報(bào)率的問(wèn)題,而這還不包括擬用來(lái)舉辦世博會(huì)的會(huì)展中心以及交通設(shè)施的預(yù)算。研究表明,如果泰國(guó)的三千七百萬(wàn)人口都來(lái)參觀世博會(huì),每人繳納32美元的管理費(fèi),那么該展會(huì)可以收支平衡。泰國(guó)總?cè)丝跒榱Ь虐偃f(wàn),人均月收入為四百美元。(蘇希玲)
英國(guó)伯明翰家禽展增加新場(chǎng)地
7月3-4日舉辦的英國(guó)伯明翰家禽展增加了一個(gè)新的展示區(qū)域,以幫助家禽飼養(yǎng)者們更好地展示。展會(huì)主辦方英國(guó)皇家奶制品供應(yīng)商協(xié)會(huì)將展示最新的農(nóng)場(chǎng)安保系統(tǒng),展會(huì)觀眾與安保專(zhuān)家以及警官可以在現(xiàn)場(chǎng)探討鄉(xiāng)村犯罪問(wèn)題。
主辦方將展會(huì)舉辦時(shí)間從往年的九月移至今年的七月,是為了更方便地服務(wù)家禽供應(yīng)商。粗略統(tǒng)計(jì),去年的展會(huì)吸引了530名展商以及超過(guò)16,000觀眾。(蘇希玲)
Reed Huaqun Combined with ShanghaiMart to Form New MegaExpo
On May 26, following a signing ceremony held at Beijing Earls Golf Club, Reed Huaqun Exhibitions Co., Ltd. and ShanghaiMart reached an agreement to develop the Shanghai International Gift & Home Trade Fair, formerly produced by ShanghaiMart, into the Shanghai International Houseware, Premium, Arts & Crafts Creative Design Exhibition, organized by Reed Huaqun. The newly combined mega-expo will take place at ShanghaiMart from August 28 to August 30, 2013.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nat Wong, President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, said, “This event marks the successful combination of the best elements of two big players: Reed Huaqun and ShanghaiMart. Weve disassembled the competition model to create better business growth and a far bigger and more synergistic event. Italian participation in Turkey
Thanks to its knowledge of waste treatment and sustainable development, Rimini Fiera Expo has once again organised a joint Italian participation in REW, the International Recycling, Environmental Technologies and Waste Management Trade Fair held June 13 to 16, 2013 at Istanbuls Tuyap Fair and Congress Centre. In collaboration with Marchet (Ancona Chamber of Commerces special company for internationalisation) Rimini Fiera will set up the Italia hall, where Italian companies will exhibit their products. In return, more than 50 Turkish buyers will attend Ecomondo, the trade fair for material and energy recovery and sustainable development which takes place November 6 to 9, 2013 in Rimini, to see what exhibitors there have to offer. Rimini Fiera Business Unit manager Simone Castelli comments:"Turkey hopes to join the EU, so it needs to upgrade its approach to environmental sustainability and improve the organisation of its waste management system." Livestock Event farms new show areas in Birmingham
The Livestock Event, running on 3-4 July, host a new Forage Field zone with practical demonstrations taking place, designed to help livestock farmers.
The organiser of the show, the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF), staged a new safety security feature area showcasing the latest farm security systems and provided the opportunity for visitors to talk to experts and police officers about rural crime.
The RABDF moved the show from September to July this year, as the dates were seen as more convenient for livestock farmers and the supply trade. The 2012 show attracted 530 exhibitors and more than 16,000 visitors(unaudited). (Celion Su)
Thai bid for World Expo 2020 rejected
Bangkoks bid to host the 2020 World Expo has been rejected by the organisers for failing to secure government support. The bid presented in 2010 by the Democratic Party government has reportedly received lukewarm interest from Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatras Pheu Thai party. While denying that her administration had shelved the bid, the PM said in February that more time was needed to analyse the likely return on investment. The costs of organising the event are huge, estimated by the PMs office at between Bt 40 billion (about USD 1.29 billion) and Bt 50 billion (around USD 1.6 billion). This does not even include the construction of infrastructure in Ayutthaya, the venue scheduled to host the Expo, and transport links to the World Heritage city. According to a study, the country would break even if 37 million people nationwide visited the international fair and each paid a Bt 1,000 admission fee(about USD 32). Thailand has a population of around 69.5 million people. The average monthly income is estimated at approximately Bt 14,000. (Celion Su)
優(yōu)尼博覽(臺(tái)灣)將管理高雄會(huì)展中心
總部位于德國(guó)科隆的優(yōu)尼展覽臺(tái)灣分公司將于今年11月份開(kāi)始管理臺(tái)灣南部的高雄會(huì)展中心,成為臺(tái)灣地區(qū)第一家管理會(huì)展中心的私營(yíng)企業(yè)。在六月底,優(yōu)尼展覽公司已經(jīng)成立了專(zhuān)門(mén)的管理團(tuán)隊(duì),并將于七月份與臺(tái)灣政府經(jīng)濟(jì)部外貿(mào)發(fā)展署簽訂合約。目前仍在施工的高雄會(huì)展中心預(yù)計(jì)于今年十月竣工,并在十一月份交付優(yōu)尼展覽公司管理。(蘇希玲)
國(guó)際展會(huì)海報(bào)大賽高手如云
最近,第十七屆國(guó)際展會(huì)海報(bào)大賽評(píng)委宣布了本年度大賽的獲獎(jiǎng)名單。該比賽由全球展覽業(yè)協(xié)會(huì)(UFI)與普羅夫迪夫國(guó)際展覽會(huì)主辦,旨在推廣當(dāng)代海報(bào)藝術(shù),促進(jìn)展覽行業(yè)的發(fā)展。本屆比賽中,一共有來(lái)自17個(gè)國(guó)家的24個(gè)展會(huì)主辦方的64張展會(huì)宣傳海報(bào)提交參賽。
大賽評(píng)委由展覽行業(yè)人士與美術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)師組成,評(píng)審標(biāo)準(zhǔn)包括設(shè)計(jì)理念原創(chuàng)性、對(duì)展會(huì)主題的詮釋、對(duì)營(yíng)銷(xiāo)信息與展會(huì)技術(shù)細(xì)節(jié)的成功詮釋。

AIPC年會(huì)選舉新的董事會(huì)
國(guó)際會(huì)議中心協(xié)會(huì)AIPC年會(huì)于2013年6月30日至7月3日在南非開(kāi)普敦舉行。會(huì)上,代表們分享了會(huì)議產(chǎn)業(yè)的新觀點(diǎn),選舉出了新的董事會(huì)主席和成員,并宣布了2013年AIPC創(chuàng)新大獎(jiǎng)的得主。

展會(huì)管理國(guó)際夏令營(yíng)
2013年6月26-28日,由德國(guó)科隆大學(xué)展會(huì)管理學(xué)院組織的第五屆“展會(huì)管理國(guó)際學(xué)?!保↖SU)成功舉辦,主題為“將創(chuàng)新理念轉(zhuǎn)化為成功的產(chǎn)品”。ISU提供了一個(gè)互動(dòng)性的教育平臺(tái),為策略性實(shí)踐信息提供了交換的平臺(tái)。在過(guò)去四屆中,共有來(lái)自35個(gè)國(guó)家的200多位展覽行業(yè)人士參加ISU。
ISU持續(xù)時(shí)間為三天,每年都有不同的主題,并邀請(qǐng)包括學(xué)術(shù)研究者、從業(yè)者、業(yè)內(nèi)頂級(jí)演說(shuō)家在內(nèi)的頂級(jí)人士來(lái)做演講,課程形式包括專(zhuān)題討論會(huì)、案例分析,確保討論具有實(shí)效性。去年,ISU主題為“卓越的銷(xiāo)售技巧”。共有來(lái)自美國(guó)、日本、泰國(guó)等14個(gè)國(guó)家的35位展會(huì)經(jīng)理參加,探討會(huì)展?fàn)I銷(xiāo)領(lǐng)域方面的機(jī)遇和挑戰(zhàn)。展會(huì)參與者認(rèn)為,新媒體對(duì)展覽行業(yè)構(gòu)成了挑戰(zhàn),并在展會(huì)上有很大的使用潛力,但它并不能取代展會(huì)。展會(huì)參與者評(píng)論道,“ISU是世界各地展覽經(jīng)理交流經(jīng)驗(yàn)和高層討論的完美載體。”“我們對(duì)會(huì)展行業(yè)都有自己的見(jiàn)解,ISU提供了交流行業(yè)知識(shí)和實(shí)踐經(jīng)驗(yàn)的絕好機(jī)會(huì)?!闭箷?huì)參與者的積極反饋,證明了所選話題的敏銳性。(蘇希玲)
Uniplan Taiwan to manage Kaohsiung exhibition and convention centre
Cologne-based agency, Uniplans Taiwan subsidiary is in line to manage the new Kaohsiung exhibition and convention centre in the south of Taiwan starting in November. The company will be the first private centre manager in Taiwan. By the end of June, Uniplan Taiwan will establish a dedicated company for management of the new centre, with contracts with the Bureau of Foreign Trade(BOFT), a department of the Economics Ministry scheduled for signing at the beginning of July. Presently still under construction, the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre (KEC) is to be completed by the end of October and handed over in November to the Uniplan spin-off. (Celion Su)
International Fair Poster Competition 2013
The jury of the 17th International F a i r P o s t e r Competition has a n n o u n c e d t h e winners for the 2013 international graphic design c o m p e t i t i o n . O r g a n i z e d b y UFI, the Global A s s o c i a t i o n o f t h e E x h i b i t i o n I n d u s t r y , a n d International Fair Plovdiv (Bulgaria), t h i s u n i q u e forum recognizes c o n t e m p o r a r y poster art, which supports the international exhibition industry. A total of 64 posters from 24 fair and exhibition organizers in 17 countries were submitted. Each poster promoted a specific exhibition.
The international jury of exhibition industry professionals and graphic designers assessed the 64 posters based on the originality of the design concept, successful interpretation of the exhibition topic and clear presentation of the marketing message and exhibitions technical details. The poster presented by Toulouse Expo – Toulouse, France and designed by Bernard Cadène, was unanimously chosen as this years Grand Award winner. (Celion Su)
International Summer University for Trade Fair Management
The International Summer University (ISU) provides an interactive educational platform for the exchange of strategic and operational knowledge from 26-28 June 2013. Nearly 200 exhibition professionals from 35 different countries participated in the ISU in the past four editions. The event this year ws themed on "From Innovative Ideas to Successful Products".
Last year, 35 trade fair managers from 14 countries(including Japan, Thailand and the USA) attended the International Summer University for Trade Fair Management in Cologne, where they discussed the challenges and opportunities facing sales and marketing departments in the trade fair sector.
In line with the events slogan, “Excellence in Sales –Selling Excellence”, the participants were treated to an indepth programme of presentations, discussions, workshops and case studies, while still having plenty of time for networking. The participants were thrilled with the events concept. The participants and speakers held lively discussions on a number of topics, focusing especially on the challenges and future prospects that the new media are bringing to the trade fair industry. AIPC Annual Conference in Cape Town Delivers Insights
AIPCs 2013 Annual Conference (June 30-July 3) just concluded in Cape Town South Africa provided members with key industry insights along with a newly elected President and Board officials and the winners of the 2013 AIPC Innovation Award.
"Im both grateful and excited to be taking over the AIPC leadership at a time when the challenges being faced by both the industry as a whole and convention centres specifically are increasingly being seen as opportunities for those with more innovative approaches", said Donaghy. (Celion Su)
