In recent years, the trade volume between China and India has been growing steadily, and China is now Indias biggest trade partner. In 2012, state leaders from the two countries declared that the year 2012 would be a friendly cooperation year. In order to promote bilateral trade, CCPIT Guangzhou and Worldex G.E.C established THE CHINA PRODUCTS MUMBAI (INDIA) EXHIBITION in 2004. The exhibition has been very successful, proven an effective platform for Chinese companies to open the Indian market. The exhibition has also become a success case of selforganized Chinese exhibitions overseas.
Last year, in the 10th edition of the exhibition, there were 203 companies from 15 provinces in China, including Hong Kong, Guangdong, Liaoning, Fujian, Beijing and Gansu, the exhibiting area was 7,500m2 and total booths number was 261. Many exhibitors used value added booths to boost company images. Exhibits included manufacturing, civil products, costumes and food. At the three-day exhibition, the exhibition hall was crammed with visitors, including 14,000 trade visitors from around the area. Most of the exhibitors received more than 50 trade exhibitors. According to an initial survey, the turnover of immediate contract exceeded 150 million dollars, among which companies from Guangdong contributed for 85 million dollars. 95% of the exhibitors were satisfied with the exhibiting effect.
The exhibition this year will be held from 26th to 28th November at Bombay Convention Centre and Exhibition Centre (BCEC). It is estimated that the total exhibition booths would be 11th and total exhibiting area was 10,000m2. As a BRICS member state, India has huge population and great market potential, and is attracting more and more international investors and multinational companies. The host hopes that the exhibition this year will create new trade opportunities for Chinese and Indian companies.
