1. 當形容詞修飾由 any-，every-，no-，some-與-body，-one，-thing等構(gòu)成的復(fù)合不定代詞時，形容詞需要后置。

例如：

My teacher told me something important yesterday. （我的老師昨天告訴我重要的事情。）

Are you sure its something serious？ （你肯定情況有些嚴重嗎？）

2. enough修飾形容詞或副詞時要后置。

例如：

The room isnt large enough. （這個屋子不夠大。）

He didnt speak loudly enough. （他說話的聲音不夠大。）

3. 動詞不定式或動詞不定式短語作定語時要后置。

例如：

Would you like something to eat？ （你想來點吃的嗎？）

4. 某些過去分詞或v-ing短語作定語時要后置。

5. 某些副詞作定語必須后置。這類副詞有：here，there，off，below，above，out，home，in，abroad等。

例如：

The teachers here are very young. （這里的教師都很年輕。）

6. 介詞短語作定語時要后置。

例如：

The girl in the red hat is one of my classmates. （那個戴紅帽子的女孩是我的同學(xué)。）

7. 形容詞短語作定語時要后置。

8. else修飾不定代詞：anything，everything，nothing，something；疑問代詞或疑問副詞：who，what，which；when，where時要后置。

例如：

I have something else to say at the meeting. （我另外還有些事情在會上要說。）

What else would you like to eat？ （你還想吃點兒什么？）

9. 定語從句要后置。

例如：

This is the pen which I bought yesterday. （這是我昨天買的那支鋼筆。）

The girl who is in red is one of my classmates. （那個穿紅色衣服的女孩是我的同學(xué)。）

10. 某些形容詞：alive，afraid，old，nearby等以及表示長度、寬度、高度、深度的形容詞作定語時要后置。

例如：

He is the oldest man alive in the world. （他是世界上活著的年齡最大的人。）

She is ten years old. （她十歲了。）

This is a street 30 meters wide. （這是一條30米寬的街道。）

11. 兩個意義相反的形容詞并列用作定語時，經(jīng)常后置。

例如：

All the countries in the world， big or small， are equal. （世界上所有國家，不論大小，一律平等。）

All the people， old or young， should help each other. （所有人，不論老少，應(yīng)該相互幫助。）

12. 有形容詞比較級別的結(jié)構(gòu)修飾名詞時后置。

例如：

We need a house twice larger than this one. （我們需要比這個大兩倍的房子。）

He has made mistakes almost as many as John did. （他犯的錯誤幾乎和約翰一樣多。）

13. 某些以-able，-ible結(jié)尾的形容詞所修飾的名詞之前有形容詞的最高級或every，any，only等詞修飾時，此類形容詞經(jīng)常后置。

例如：

Tom is the only person suitable for the job. （湯姆是唯一適合這項工作的人。）
