Successful Application of New Generation HAT-300 Catalyst for Toluene Disproportionation
The HAT-300 catalyst for toluene disproportionation, which was independently developed by the SINOPEC Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute (SPRI), has been successfully applied in the 750 kt/a toluene disproportionation unit at the Tianjin Petrochemical Company. This catalyst is the latest new-generation toluene disproportionation catalyst developed by SPRI.
In July 2015 this catalyst, which was tested in a bench scale, had passed the technical evaluation and review. Soon afterwards in less than one year the research team had fnished the experimental production of novel zeolite in an enlarged scale, the scale-up of catalyst manufacture, and the process unit revamp. The production of a batch of catalyst was implemented successfully in August 2016, and the loading of catalyst into the reactor was completed in September 2016. The operating parameters of process unit have revealed that the performance of the catalyst has reached the advanced technical level of similar toluene disproportionation catalysts.
