Truth or Dare

I enjoy playing the game Truth or Dare①truth or dare 真心話大冒險.

There were two dares given to two kids stick out②stick out 突出；堅持；醒目in my mind. The first involves a trip to the emergency room. The second involves a strong dose③dose 英 ［d??s］ 美 ［dos］ n. 劑量；一劑，一服 vi. 服藥 vt. 給藥；給……服藥of discipline.

At a party， many years ago， my friends and I played "Truth or Dare." At first， the truths and dares were pretty tame （Tell us who your crush is. I dare you to take off your shoes and smell them.）.

However， as the game progressed， so did the intensity④intensity 英 ［?n'tens?t?］ 美 ［?n't?ns?ti］ n. 強度；強烈；［電子］ 亮度；緊張of the questions and commands. One of the girls had brought along her new boyfriend. She dared him to drink a bottle of hot sauce. Now，this wasn't any usual hot sauce. The hostess's father collected hot sauces as a hobby. This bottle was taken from a definite "Look， but don't ingest⑤ingest 英 ［?n'd?est］ 美 ［?n'd??st］ vt. 攝??；咽下；吸收；接待" stock. Being the cocky⑥cocky 英 ［'k?k?］ 美 ［'kɑki］ adj. 自大的；驕傲的；過于自信的little boy that he was， he accepted the dare and unscrewed⑦unscrew 英 ［?n'skru?］ 美 ［，?n'skru］ vt. 旋開；旋松；從……旋出螺絲the cap. From the look on his face when the first drop hit his tongue， it was evident he wanted to cry.Still， he drank down the whole bottle， his girlfriend cheering him on. Very soon after he finished， he doubled over⑧double over 彎腰、對折and started to vomit⑨vomit 英 ［'v?m?t］ 美 ［'vɑm?t］ vt. 吐出；使……嘔吐 vi. 嘔吐；吐出 n. 嘔吐；嘔吐物；催吐劑，violently.

The second dare took place at my former high school. A group of us was sitting in the chorus room， waiting for our rehearsal⑩rehearsal 英 ［r?'h??s（?）l］ 美 ［r?'h?sl］ n. 排演；預演；練習；訓練；敘述to start. Realizing that our choir director was on the phone and how long he usually remained on it， we decided to play "Truth or Dare." Now， there was this extremely energetic， borderline mentally challenged boy in the group. A couple of us whispered to each other that we didn't think it would be a good idea to let him play. However， not wanting to make him feel left out， the other members of the group invited him into the game.

When it was his turn to ask or command someone， he would come up with something truly embarrassing. Though we tried to make it so that he didn't get to ask or command this one kid， it ended up happening. He dared this kid to run around the school， screaming that there was a fire. Wanting desperately to fit in， he did just that. Our high school consists of two buildings， four floors each. He screamed so loud that we could hear him in the other building. Suddenly， we couldn't hear him anymore，but then we could. While this one guard understood the situation and told our choir director to watch his students better， another guard had heard and wasn't so understanding. Despite these two situations， I still enjoy playing this game. Under the right circumstances and played with the right people， it can make for a fun time. However， too often， people go too far. Quite suddenly，a game of "Truth or Dare can turn into "Torture or Destruction."

我很喜歡玩“真心話大冒險”這個游戲。

曾經(jīng)有兩個孩子的大冒險給我留下了很深的印象：第一個大冒險將人送進急救室，第二個大冒險帶來了嚴厲的懲罰。

許多年前，我和朋友們在一個派對上玩“真心話大冒險”。一開始，真心話和大冒險還比較溫和（告訴我們你暗戀誰；我敢說，你不敢脫下鞋子來聞一聞。）。

不過，隨著游戲進行下去，問題變得越來越尖銳，命令也越來越難辦了。其中一個女孩帶來了她的新男友。她讓他干了一瓶辣椒醬。這可不是一般的辣椒醬。派對主人家的父親喜歡收集辣椒醬。這一瓶是從一個顯然“可看不可吃”的架子上拿下來的。作為一個驕傲自信的小男孩，他接受了這個挑戰(zhàn)，扭開了瓶蓋。當?shù)谝豢诶苯丰u落在男孩的舌頭上時，從他臉上的表情就能看出他很想哭。盡管如此，在女朋友的打氣下，他還是干了整瓶辣椒醬。一喝完沒多久，他便彎下腰吐了起來，大吐特吐。

第二個大冒險（事故）發(fā)生在我先前那所高中。我們一群人坐在合唱室里，等著排練開始。我們發(fā)現(xiàn)合唱團指揮正在打電話，鑒于他向來一聊電話就說個沒完，我們決定玩“真心話大冒險”。我們當中有這么一個男生，精力異常旺盛，總想挑戰(zhàn)極限。我和另外一個人低聲交談，都覺得讓他玩這游戲不是個好主意。不過，因為不想讓這男生覺得自己受到排擠，其他人還是將他拉過來一起玩了。

我們當中另外一個男生是個渾蛋，特喜歡害人以及鬧騰搗亂。輪到他提問題或者下命令時，他總會說出一些讓人非常尷尬的話。雖然我們在玩游戲時盡量不讓他有機會向之前那個男生提問題或者下命令，事情還是不可避免地發(fā)生了。他讓那個男生圍著學校跑一圈，一邊跑一邊叫“失火啦”。后者實在太想融入集體，便真的照做了。我們的高中有兩棟教學樓，每棟都是四層樓高。那個男生嚷得太起勁了，我們都能聽見他在另外一棟樓的叫聲。他的聲音突然消失了，過了一會兒又響了起來。他被一個保安押回合唱室，哭著懇求保安不要處罰他。盡管這名保安搞清楚情況后只是讓我們的指揮看好他的學生，另外一名保安聽說了這件事，卻并不是那么通情達理。這個男生最后被勒令停學，由父母帶走。至于那個讓他大冒險的家伙？合唱團指揮對搞事分子處以罰款，但他一直沒有領罰交錢。

盡管有這兩次意外，我還是挺喜歡這個游戲。在合宜的情況下與合適的人一起玩，它能讓人樂呵一把。不過，人們總是常常玩出火。于是突然之間，一個“真心話大冒險”就會變成“折磨話大壞事”了。
