When speaking of Vincent van Gogh， which thing will jump into your mind？ The sunflowers？ The starry night？ Or his crazy lifetime？ As an artist of post-impressionism1， he is known for his unique style of painting marked by bold2 brushstrokes3. This gifted and crazy man devotes his life to presenting us a charming artist world instead of simply duplicating4 real life. Recently， a highly anticipated biopic5—Loving Vincent， which is directed by Polish painter Dorota Kobiela and filmmaker Hugh Welchman， is being undertaken. It will be the first entirely painted feature film.

The project was released in March and quickly went viral6， especially artists from all over the world， who applied for the chance to move to Poland and take part in the painstaking7 process .And the lucky one who has been chosen was then trained to master van Goghs skillful stroke8. Over 120 of van Goghs paintings are the source material for the film， whose plot was constructed from over 800 handwritten letters by himself. During the process of filming， the actors stand in front of green screens specially designed to look like van Gogh paintings， while a team of animators use reference9 material （made from live-action images plus some computer animation） to make the scene look more vivid.

One of the biggest challenges is to translate still painting into fluid film， rebuilding every frame of live-action footage into van Goghs signature style. Several brief clips have been released in public， and you will feel like communicating with one of the most creative mind in art history while watching these clips.
