China is to use an online national encyclopaedia[百科全書]next year, to compete with[與……
Officials said more than 20,000 people will work on the project. There will be 300,000 entries[詞條]. Each entry will have about 1,000 words.
Unlike Wikipedia, it will be created by selected[精選的]scholars[學者]from staterun[公辦的]universities, rather than being openly editable[可編輯的]by volunteers.
“The Encyclopaedia of China is not a book, but a Great Wall of culture,” said Yang Muzhi, the editor-in-chief[主編]of the project.

At the beginning, fidget spinners were made as tools for children with autism[自閉癥]and ADHD[注意力缺陷多動癥]. But now, they become very popular among students and in the social media.
A fidget spinner is a three-pronged[有尖頭的], palm-sized[手掌大小的]piece of plastic[塑料]or metal[金屬]. It spins around a bearing[軸承]in the center. As the spinner spins, it can be balanced on top of fingers, toes, or even the nose or forehead. There are YouTube videos showing how to do tricks[把戲]with it. And they attract millions of views. Many kids just can’t put the spinners down.
But to teachers, fidget spinners become a classroom distraction[分心的事物]. So they are being banned[禁止]at many schools.
