As soothing waves of the South China Sea caressed the coast of South China’s Hainan Island, gleaming beneath azure April skies, the annual Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) once again drew the global spotlight. In the warm spring sunlight, leaders from Asian governments,businesses and academia joined those from other continents to gather in the picturesque Hainan town of Boao to discuss policies and actions to achieve win-win cooperation in Asia and foster global growth and prosperity. With pooled wisdom and shared perspectives,the strongest voices for Asian development reverberated through the forum venue.
Themed “An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity,” the fourday 2018 BFA attracted more than 2,000 guests from China, Thailand, Singapore,the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia and other countries to offer “Boao Solution” and contribute “Boao Force” to the growth of Asia and the world.
At the opening ceremony, Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, delivered a keynote speech announcing China’s firm resolve and major measures to deepen reform and expand opening-up to create a community with a shared future for mankind, which earned widespread acclaim from all sides.
