Li Li
I am privileged to share with our readers the 2019 first issue of Family Medicine and Community Health (FMCH). In front of you is the inaugural issue of FMCH published by BMJ.It marks the beginning of a long-term partnership of FMCH and BMJ in the pursuit of the shared vision for the journal to become a premier international scientific journal with a focus on family medicine and community health.
Launched in 2014, FMCH has enjoyed tremendous growth in the past years and has entered into a new phase of development.Worldwide, healthcare is undergoing drastic changes, driven largely by the increasingly recognised pivotal role of primary care in providing first-contact, comprehensive, coordinated, and continuity care to individuals and population at large. As an open access journal, FMCH strives to be an international forum and sounding board for the readership to exchange knowledge and insight of the rapidly changing landscape of healthcare worldwide.
Moving forward, while continuing its focus on publishing original research, FMCH will broaden its scope of report to include the following sections: Editorials, Review,Commentary, Original Research, Education and Training, Methodology, Reflections and China Focus.
As the American proverb goes: if you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together! As Editor-in-Chief, I will work collaboratively with members of FMCH editorial board, publishing partner BMJ,the contributing authors and the readers to elevate FMCH as a leading academic journal in family medicine and community health.
