Infantino said,“FIFA hasn’t decided whether there are 32 or 48 football team s in the 2022 Qatar World Cup yet.For now it’s a World Cup with 32 team s but everybody is open-minded and we will have a frank and open discussion.I will be happy if it keeps 32 teams as usual.Qatar could insist on 32 teams.But if everybody thinks it might be positive to change to 48 team s,then we can have a look.”

Infantino added,“We have agreements and a contract with Qatar,but it’s still too early to know whether there will be 32 teams or more.For now,anything is possible.With 48 team s,it will be good for world peace,so I don’t want to close the door to this opportunity.”
