1、您認為現(xiàn)代文化中最具影響力的傳統(tǒng)文化特征是什么?
我認為是“(新舊之間的)不同”。在現(xiàn)代社會中,傳統(tǒng)文化最具影響力的特征是“不同”但“有用”的特征。我們應(yīng)該挖掘這些寶貴財富,提高我們的生活質(zhì)量。
2、您最喜歡哪個項目?(這個項目讓您感到)驕傲的是什么?
很難只選擇其中一個項目,雖然所有的項目對我來說都是寶貴的。如果必須要選擇,我喜歡其中3 個項目,GaOn Jai(嘉穩(wěn)齋)、Flying House(飛軒)、Lim Geo Dang(森林生活)。因為據(jù)我對自己建筑風格的了解,這些項目比較有意義。
3、您創(chuàng)作Ga On Jai House(嘉穩(wěn)齋)的靈感來自哪里?
Ga On Jai house(嘉穩(wěn)齋)的基本建筑特征中應(yīng)用了韓國傳統(tǒng)建筑的空間特征和具象特征。不同空間的戲劇性序列和傳統(tǒng)韓國建筑的飛天屋頂?shù)膭痈屑鞍肯璧男螒B(tài)被詮釋為現(xiàn)代建筑語言,體現(xiàn)在Ga On Jai House(嘉穩(wěn)齋)中。
4、Tetris幼兒園的設(shè)計理念是為孩子們創(chuàng)造各種學習體驗。您如何在設(shè)計中進行體現(xiàn)?
在建筑的南側(cè),孩子們穿過各式游戲區(qū)域兼體驗式學習區(qū),這些區(qū)域從地面操場和體育館開始到游戲臺階、休閑平臺、游戲橋、屋頂階梯游樂場,一直延伸到屋頂花園。當孩子們在建筑中來回玩耍時,每層室內(nèi)空間就會自然產(chǎn)生互動。在這個過程中,孩子們可以體驗各種室內(nèi)和室外項目融合而成的有趣的迷宮。換句話說,每個空間都是激發(fā)孩子好奇心的一項娛樂、探索運動和游戲空間。
5、在Flying House(飛軒)的設(shè)計中,您是如何將傳統(tǒng)韓國建筑的形態(tài)特征與飛行員的日常行為特征聯(lián)系起來的?
為了明確住宅和房主的身份,我們將建筑“飛行”與飛行員日常行為的“飛行”聯(lián)系起來。這棟Flying House(飛軒)大部分的動態(tài)曲線來源于韓國傳統(tǒng)建筑高聳的屋頂,因此,F(xiàn)lying House(飛軒)動態(tài)或靜止的運動象征著飛行員(房子的主人)的飛行。
6、在Archi-Fiore(建筑之花)中,裝飾有由陰離子表面組成的大型金屬花朵。您的設(shè)計意圖是什么?為滿足城市文脈中的和諧與認同要求,為了在這座小型“Archi-Fiore(建筑之花)”與對稱的巨大圓形體育館這一老地標之間進行對話,我將新的小標志性地標視為波普藝術(shù)金屬建筑裝置,以其獨特的識別性提升這座建筑的商業(yè)價值。
7、在Kyeong Dok Jai(耕讀齋)使用三個扇形區(qū)域的原因是什么?
這是一種生態(tài)友好的布局,將冬季的陽光穿過拼接塊之間的縫隙,從場地后方引入北向內(nèi)外部空間。我認為明亮的空間環(huán)境非常重要。
8、為什么Purple Hill(紫岸齋)選擇了山對面的方向,永遠保留在自然的綠色空間嗎?
這是反芻性的選擇,同時獲得了良好的視野和天氣條件。為了獲得良好的自然景觀,我們選擇了朝北的方向,同時我們失去了朝南和朝東的良好天氣條件,所以我們設(shè)計了漂浮的“透明投影箱”,以此引入南方溫暖的陽光。
我們將竹子種植在透明投影箱內(nèi),透明投影箱變成了“漂浮的自然”。
9、為什么Bu Yeon Dang(浮然堂)采用了場地形狀變成建筑形狀的發(fā)設(shè)計方法?
為了最大限度地利用外部空間,并設(shè)計出安靜的、環(huán)繞四周的內(nèi)院,我們將建筑體量沿著場地的輪廓進行布局,從而這最大限度地利用了場地有效的布局。因此,建筑形態(tài)成為了場地的形態(tài)。
10、您對當代建筑教育的看法。
作為一名建筑師,在建筑學院教授學生是研究一些有創(chuàng)意建筑的另一種充滿激情的工作。
11、您如何評價韓國當代建筑?
韓國當代建筑的文化水平已經(jīng)達到了國際標準,但是我認為在未來,我們需要更多有創(chuàng)意的作品。
12、您對當代世界建筑發(fā)展的看法。
在我看來,除了幾位老一輩的明星建筑師的作品外,近代世界建筑總體上是統(tǒng)一的,在未來,我認為需要通過將每一個不同地域文化的區(qū)域現(xiàn)代化應(yīng)用到世界建筑中來,賦予全球建筑更豐富的多樣性。

1. What do you think are the most influential traditional cultural features in modern culture?
I think it's "difference(between old&new)". The most influential characters of
traditional culture are "different" but "useful" features in modern society. We should
discover such jewels and improve the quality of our life.
2. Which project is your favorite work? What's the pride?
It's diffcult to select the only one project, though all my projects are precious to me, if I have to choose, I like 3 projects, GaOn Jai, Flying House, Lim Geo Dang, because they were meaningful projects to me for researching identity of my own architecture.
3. Where did your inspiration for creating GaOn Jai House come from?
Spatial characters and figurative characters of traditional architecture of Korea have been applied to basic architectural features of GaOn Jai house. Dramatic
sequence of diverse spaces and dynamic and soaring formativeness of the flying
roof of traditional Korean architecture were interpreted into modern language of architecture and they adapted on GaOn Jai house.
4. The design concept of Tetris Nursery is to create various learning experiences for children. How do you embody it in the design?
On the south-facing side of the building, children traverse through a wide variety of play areas that double as experiential learning spaces, starting from the ground level playground and gym. to the play steps, lounging terrace, play bridge, rooftop tiered playground, and all the way up to the rooftop garden. As they circulate through the building, interaction occurs naturally with the interior space on each floor. On the way, they get to experience the interesting labyrinth created by the blending of various indoor and outdoor programs. In other words, each space is an entertaining and exploratory movement and a play space that stimulates the child's curiosity.
5. In the design of Flying House, how did you connect the formation characteristics of traditional Korean architecture with the daily behavioral characteristics of pilots?
In order to give identity to this house and the owner we have related architectural"Flight" with pilot's daily behavioral "Flight". Dynamic curve of the mass of this Flyiing House has been derived from soaring roof of traditional Korean architecture,so, dynamic and frozen movement of Flying House is metaphorically symbolize the airline's flight of the pilot, the owner of this house.
6. In Archi-Fiore, a large metal flower composed of negative surfaces is installed. What is your design intent to do so?
For harmony and identification in urban context, to dialogize between this small"Archi-Fiore" and opposite huge round mass of gymnasium, the old landmark, I have installed new small iconic landmark as pop-artistic metal installation of architecture to enhance the commercial value of this building by it's unique identification.
7. What is the reason for using three sliced fan-shaped areas in KyeongDok Jai?
It was the eco-friendly layout for introducing winter sunlight from rear side of the site into inner and exterior spaces of this house facing north, throught the gaps between sliced masses. I think brighter atmosphere of space in house is very important environment.
8. Why did Purple Hill House choose the direction of the mountains opposite that will remain in the natural green space forever?
It was the ruminative selection to obtain both conditions of good view and good weather condition. For good natural view, we have selected facing north direction,at the same time, we have lost good weather condition facing south and east, so,we designed floating "glass box of light" through which introducing southern warm sunlight. And we planted bamboo inside the glass box, thereby, the glass boxes became "floating nature".
9. Why did Bu Yeon Dang adopt the design method that the shape of the site becomes the shape of the building?
To maximize the area of exterior space and to design silent and surrounding innercourt, we layout the architectural mass along the outline of site, thereby that's the efficient layout for maximum use of site. As a result, architectural shape has become the shape of the site.
10. Your views on contemporary architectural education.
As an architects, to teach the students in school of architecture is another passionate studies for researching some creative architecture.
11. What do you think of Korean contemporary architecture.
The cultural level of contemporary architecture of Korea is in international standard but I think we need more works of creativity and originality in future.
12. Your views on the development of contemporary world architecture.
In my point of view, in general recent world architecture are being uniform except the works of several stararchitects of older generation, in future, I think we need to give more diversity on global architecture by modernized application of the locality of each different regional culture to the world architecture.
