Dear Crazy English,
I am writing to launch an appeal to the readers as well as the public to protect the wildlife. With more and more trees cut down, the balance of nature has been damaged, which has caused many wild animals in danger of extinction. Therefore,it's high time that we aroused people's awareness of wildlife protection. Besides, our government should be devoted to protecting wildlife, preventing the endangered animals from being killed.Furthermore, effective measures should be taken to protect rare wildlife, including punishing the hunters severely.Last but not least,we should live in harmony with animals, creating a pleasant ecological environment.
Please give a hand to the endangered animals. They need help to survive.
Yours,
Li Hua

1. The haunted church, the blazing sun, the cold night, his heavy jacket, the familiar surroundings, and the dull life as a shepherd were all the things the boy disliked or was reluctant to be faced with. Also, there are also some other mental sufferings for the boy, one of which was his failure to see the girl he was dreaming of. And another mental suffering might be his family's anticipation on him. They wished the boy to be a priest while he was eager to travel.
2. He was depressed, angry, sad, lonely, helpless, emotional, confused and restless.

第五回 父親的祝福
Reading Check
Ⅰ. 1. Personally, the father didn't want his son to travel the world because he tried to convince his son that the village they lived in was the best. He made his opinion convincing by telling his son that their village was attractive to people from all over the world, who once visited it would choose to live there permanently.
2. No. I draw the conclusion because when the father told his son the charm of their village, the son told his father that he'd like to see the castles in the towns where the remote people lived. And the son added that he'd like to see their land, and see how they lived.
3. Yes. Because the next day, he gave his son a pouch that held three ancient Spanish gold coins as a part of the son's inheritance from him, which would help his son to start his own career and get a deeper understanding of their countryside. There are two factors contributing to his change. Firstly,as a father, he was empathic. Despite his age, the father himself still longed to travel the world. Such impetus might had long been lingering in his inner heart and torturing him, which made it easy to relate to his restless son with the common desire when he was young. Further more, as a father, he loved his son affectionately and hoped that he could live a life as he wished while he was young. In a word, it was empathy and love that contributed to the change of the father's thought on his son.
4. He was tolerant, empathic, considerate, and affectionate.
Ⅱ. According to the father's words, we can know that the village where he and his son lived was attractive to those who lived outside or remote from it. Once those visitors came to the village, they would leave where they previously had lived and choose to live in the village forever. However, his son, who was a native inhabitant, thought little of the village and was eager to leave it. From this contrast, we can safely draw the conclusion that we should cherish what we possess at the moment instead of sticking to some unrealistic expectations.

My dream house in 2035
Everyone has a desire for a dream house. My dream house in 2035 will be comfortable, clean and scenic with some different functions.
My dream house in 2035 is unique. I hope it will be nestled on a hillside, facing the sea and covering an area of 2 acres of land. With vibrant gardens surrounding it, stone terraces gradually descending to the coastal road by the seafront. My dream house will have spectacular views of the coast and the hill, which is sure to make me relaxed when I feel exhausted. Also, it will come complete with a gym and a fitness room, as well as two guest villas so that I can take part in colorful activities with my family and friends. Also, it will be equipped with a reading room where I can do as much reading as possible because reading makes a full man. In the reading room, I will surf the Internet, through which I will always keep up with the world.
Not only will my dream house satisfy my own urges but also meet my family's demand. I hope I will live a happy life with my family there.

Dear Lisa,
Having known that you take a great fancy to our activity called Animals Protection, I am writing to introduce it to you.
The activity aimed at protecting animals is scheduled to be held in April in our school. I think it would be a time for you to get closer to animals.During the activity a wide range of splendid activities will be held, through which you will have a better knowledge of wildlife protection. We'd like our students to design their own posters and exhibit them, thus arousing students' awareness of animals protection.
I would appreciate it if you could come to the scene in person. You are highly welcome to our school. A prompt reply is much favored.
Yours,
Li Hua
Task 5
A few minutes later, the bear headed back to our camp. Elli and I screamed at the top of our lungs, and waved our fists at him in an attempt to intimidate and scare him away. To our disappointment, all these efforts were in vain. The bear violently dashed against the wooden posts which were evidently on the verge of collapsing! Chilly winds whipping our faces, I could hear nothing but the sound of our hearts beating violently in our chests.
At that very moment, the helicopter arrived.Out of the helicopter descended a rope to pull us up. We grabbed the rope and eventually landed on the helicopter safe and sound. Meanwhile, I was amazed to spot this stubborn guy had crushed the fence and headed toward our camp for the inviting garlic bread. At this once-in-a-lifetime moment, I pulled out the camera, photographing that impressive scene. Gazing at his broad back in the melting ice field, I wondered if it was the warmer planet that had forced the bear to hunt for food from the human regions.
