Two frogs had lived in a village alltheir lives.Theythoughtthey would like to go and see the big city that was about tenmilesaway.They talked about it for a long time,and at last theyset offto see the city.

兩只青蛙一生都生活在一個村莊里。他們想去看看十英里外的那座大城市。關于這件事，他們談論很長時間了，最終他們出發(fā)去參觀這座城市。

It was a hot day,and they soon began to feel tired.They had only gone a little way when one said to the other,“We must be nearly there.Can you see the city?”

那是一個炎熱的日子，他們很快就開始感到疲倦。他們才走了一小段路，這時其中一只青蛙對另一只青蛙說道：“我們一定快到了。你能看到那座城市嗎？”

“No,” said the other frog,“but if Iclimb onyour back,I might be able to see it.”

“看不見，”另一只青蛙說，“但是，如果我爬到你的背上，我也許就能看到那座城市?！?/p>

So heclimbed upon the back of the other frog to see the city.

于是，他爬到了另一只青蛙的背上，以便能看到那座城市。

Now when the frog put up his head,his eyes could only see what was behind,and not what was in front.So he saw the village they had just left.

現(xiàn)在，當這只青蛙抬起頭時，他的眼睛只能看到身后的東西，而看不到前面的東西。所以，他看到了他們剛剛離開的村莊。

“Can you see the city?” asked the frog who was below.

“你能看到那座城市嗎？”下面的那只青蛙問道。

“Yes,” answered the frog who had climbed up,“I can see it.It looks just like our village.”

“是的，”爬在另一只青蛙背上的青蛙回答道，“我能看到這座城市了。它看起來就像我們的村莊?！?/p>

Then the frogs thought that it was notworthwhilegoing any farther.So,they went back and told the frogsround the villagethat they had seen the city,and it was just like theirs.

這時，這兩只青蛙認為再往前走就不值得了。因此，他們返回了，并且告訴村里的其他青蛙，他們已經看過了那座城市，而那座城市就和他們的村莊一模一樣。
