1 Luban Workshop is a Chinese?supported skill and vocational training project. With 25 Luban Workshops established in 23 countries, they have become a bridge of friendship between China and countries along the Belt and Road.
2 Named after Lu Ban, an ancient Chinese woodcraft master who was born in 507 BC during Chinas Zhou Dynasty, the workshops aim to develop technical professionals worldwide.
3 The workshops are very positive. Students at the workshops are taught in a model called “order?form teaching”, which means that they are trained and equipped with targeted skills in collaboration (合作) with the enterprises they will work at after graduating. The majority of students said they want to continue their studies in China. More than 99 percent of the surveyed students of the workshops said what they have learned at the workshops meets the demand of society. Almost 80 percent of students said they want to work at Chinese enterprise branches in their countries and more than 80 percent said they want to continue their studies in China.
4 First established in 2016, the workshops have offered degree education. As the old saying goes, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and
you feed him for a lifetime.” A total of 12,000 people around the world have received vocational training in Luban Workshops, and a total of 66 Chinese and foreign enterprises have established cooperation with Luban Workshops.
5 A total of 49 vocational majors have been opened at the workshops, offering education from the secondary vocational degree to the postgraduate degree. Most majors the workshops set up are in industries where theres a huge demand. In this point, they will strengthen the competitiveness of companies in those industries and contribute to the development of the local economy. Luban Workshops have received wide praise abroad. Luban Workshops have become a bridge of friendship between China and foreign countries in educational exchange.
