Trauma refers to an emotional response to a terrible event like an accident, an attack,a natural disaster,or other life-changing happenings. The growth after trauma doesn't mean we get through challenges uninjured. It's been a scary and painful time, for everyone, in one way or another. We may experience disbelief, depression, and even denial. As time moves on, people who have experienced trauma may have headaches or other physical symptoms, emotional ups and downs, and even relationship problems.Trauma does leave its irremovable marks.

However, in one study, researchers surveyed nearly 385 people who experienced financial difficulty during the pandemic.88 percent of the people surveyed said they also experienced some positive outcomes. They now have stronger family relationships and a greater appreciation of life.

It was Jennifer Williams' mother who got her hooked on books. As a librarian, she read to her three children every day.

When Williams became an elementary school teacher in Virginia, she wanted her students to fall in love with reading just as she.But early on, she realized that some kids had few chances to read.To Williams, the solution was simple:give kids books. In 2017,as part of an event called Engage Danville, she gave away 900 used children's books over three days. Most people would be satisfied with that.

“Anybody could do that,”she said.“I wanted to do something that's going to stretch my faith, my work ethic and my everything.”So she continued setting a new goal for herself: give away one million books. It sounded like an impossible number, but as Williams posted on her blog,“Don't complain in the bleachers if you aren't willing to work hard out on the field.”

So she got to work, first by persuading friends to donate books or money to buy books. Before long,as news of Williams'project spread, strangers started leaving bundles of books at her front door.As quickly as the books come in,Williams gives them to local schools for free and also supplies books to little free libraries around the city. She also hosts a book club in the neighbourhood. In the several years, she's been doing all this and has given away more than 78,000 books. And she's not slowing down. It's too important for kids with few choices.

Are the walls of your teenage bedroom decorated with countless posters? When it comes to home decoration, one of the first opportunities we get to express ourselves is by choosing which posters to stick on our teenage bedroom walls.__16___

Posters also allow you to welcome different aspects (方面)of your personality.__19___But with posters you can choose to place a sports legend next to a Hollywood actor or a cute puppy next to a pop star. They can be switched around and changing one or all of them can change the style of the room.

Research showed just 7 per cent of teens have posters on their walls now compared to 78 per cent in the 1990s.It's sad to think young people are missing something.__20___But time has moved on.Perhaps the poster will regain its popularity several years later.

A.And posters allow that freedom.

B.Paints and wallpaper can be limiting.

C.Posters are a unique art form for teenagers.

D.Here are what we can express through posters.

E.So why are ordinary posters so popular?

F.They once played such a big part in youth culture.

Daniel and Lucas are twins. They are teenagers, studying in the same class.Their teenage life is rich and colorful.Tony is their grandpa, whose age is 70 this year. The two grandsons like to take exercise with their grandpa and even go out on adventures.

In the summer of last year, they paid a visit to Stone Mountain Park with their grandpa. They had the opportunity to spend the day with their grandpa, seeing the various beautiful sights and attractions. One thing that three of them had really desired to do was climb to the top of the mountain.Stone Mountain isn't a very high mountain and fortunately, there were some walking routes to the top of it, but for the two teenagers, along with a rather old grandpa,it was a difficult task.

Daniel and Lucas were much more interested in the walk than their grandpa, and they viewed it as an exciting adventure. But climbing the mountain was a rather big challenge for Tony, who was old and thin.He decided to start a slow walk up to the mountain.

It seemed that Tony was taking him forever to climb just a short distance, but considering his personal safety, he had to remind himself that it took him two steps to equal his grandsons' one step. When he walked closer to his grandsons, he had to stop for a while to regain energy, and then tried to catch up with them, over and over again.

Tony was very tired. He just wanted to arrive at the top of the mountain as soon as possible to enjoy the beauty of the mountain top.But the twin grandsons were not focused at all on the trial of climbing the mountain. On the contrary, they were simply enjoying the journey of the walk. They enjoyed all that they had seen and all that they had heard along the way up to the top of the mountain. They stopped now and then to look at every large rock and observe the unusual plant formations.Suddenly, they found a strange plant.Daniel called out,“Grandpa, here is a special plant.Come and have a look.”
