日產(chǎn)汽車有限公司日前公布其生態(tài)踏板——是一項(xiàng)世界首創(chuàng)的技術(shù),該設(shè)計(jì)能夠幫助駕駛員提高燃油使用效率。當(dāng)駕駛員加大油門的時(shí)候,這個(gè)系統(tǒng)可以檢測(cè)到超過(guò)的壓力,從而提醒駕駛員他/她的燃油消耗。

研究表明:歐洲不應(yīng)懼怕全球化
根據(jù)歐盟委員會(huì)資助的研究結(jié)果表明,歐盟從全球化中得到了很多益處,歐盟不應(yīng)將全球化視為是對(duì)他們的工作機(jī)會(huì)和生活質(zhì)量產(chǎn)生威脅的事情。該項(xiàng)研究由歐盟政策研究中心承擔(dān)。這項(xiàng)“歐洲社會(huì)是否適應(yīng)全球化?”的研究還得出結(jié)論,歐洲的社會(huì)模式可以在全球化的世界中更加繁榮。根據(jù)最近的一次調(diào)查,幾乎一半的歐洲人擔(dān)心全球化會(huì)對(duì)他們的工作和業(yè)務(wù)產(chǎn)生消極的影響。
歐盟議會(huì)就可再生能源達(dá)成妥協(xié)

CSR Europe at OPEN DAYS 2008 European Week of Regions and Cities, 6-9 October
The OPEN DAYS event, co-organised on 6-9 October in Brussels by the Committee of the Regions and the European Commissions DG Regional Policy, brings together EU and regional policy-makers, experts and representatives of banking, business and civil society groups for three days of working seminars and debates around the topic “Regions and cities in a challenging world”. CSR Europe will organise a workshop on the topic “Corporate social responsibility-business contributions to regional

Nissan launches eco-pedal to help reduce fuel consumption
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.,has unveiled the ECO Pedal – a world first technology-designed to assist drivers to become more fuel-efficient. The system detects excess pressure when the driver steps on the accelerator and informs the driver on his/her fuel consumption.
Panasonic releases Environmental Data Book 2008 and announces new CO2 targets
Panasonic has issued its Environmental Data Book 2008 which provides detailed information on the past years environmental activities in accordance to the “Panasonic Eco Ideas Declaration” announced last October. Panasonic also announced that the company will speed up its CO2 reduction initiative in FY 2009 ending March 2009.
BASF, MENTOR and Red Cross give malaria nets to Myanmar cyclone victims
BASF donated 100,000 INTERCEPTOR?malaria nets to the relief efforts following cyclone Nagris in Myanmar. Since cyclone Nargis hit the country past May, there has been an increase in malaria and dengue fever.
Volkswagen presents internal environmental award to creative employees
On 15 July 2008, Volkswagen presented its internal environmental award for the fifth time to employees who have shown exceptional commitment and creativity with regard to environmental protection. This year sees winners from all over Europe for the first time.

Europe should not fear globalisation, says study
Europeans have much to gain from globalisation and should not see it as a threat to their jobs or quality of life, according to a Commission-funded study produced by the Centre for European Policy Studies. The study “Is Social Europe fit for Globalisation?” also concludes that Europes social model can thrive in the globalised world. According to a recent survey, almost half of Europeans worry that globalisation will have a negative effect on jobs and businesses.
EU Parliament set for compromise on renewables
The European Parliaments Industry and Energy Committee looks set to approve a cross-party compromise reaffirming binding targets for renewables and on the use of biofuels in transport. Despite strong pressure to water down a draft law aimed at achieving a 10% share of biofuels in transport fuels by 2020-due to fears over their role in pushing up food prices and causing deforestation-MEPs are set to confirm the mandatory target. U.S. States Sue Environmental Protection Agency Over Refinery Emissions
Eleven U.S. states — including California, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont — along with New York City sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), claiming the agency violated the federal Clean Air Act by refusing to issue new source performance standards for controlling emissions from oil refineries. According to the lawsuit, filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, about 15 percent of industrial carbon dioxide emissions come from refineries.
