Dragon-boat Festival also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating Zong Zi and racing dragon-boats. To hold the dragon-boat races is in memory of Qu Yuan, one of the greatest poets in China.

Qu Yuan was born in Zigui of Hubei Province over 2,200 years ago. Qu Yuan was an honest minister of the State of Chu, during the Warring States Period(475-221BC). He was upright and wise. He wanted to bring his country peace and make the State stronger and stronger, but the country was in the hands of bad officials, so he failed. At last, he was very discouraged. He himself threw into the Miluo River and ended his life .It is said that many people jumped into the river and tried to save him. But it was too late. They were very sad and they threw rice into the water to promote Qu Yuans spirit.

Now we read his poem Li Sao which was filled with deep love for his country. We can hold the dragon-boat races and eat Zong Zi during the Dragon boat Festival, learn from Qu Yuans good qualities of loving our motherland. We should remember what President Xi Jinping said at the moment, make our country richer and stronger and work hard to achieve Dream of China.

端午節(jié)也叫粽子節(jié)，它是根據(jù)中國(guó)的歷法在每年五月的第五天舉行慶祝活動(dòng)。千百年來，這個(gè)節(jié)日以吃粽子和賽龍舟來紀(jì)念中國(guó)最偉大的詩(shī)人屈原。

屈原，約2200多年前出生在湖北省秭歸縣。他是戰(zhàn)國(guó)時(shí)期（公元前475-221）楚國(guó)的一位生性秉直的大臣。他正直而睿智，希望使他的國(guó)家能夠和平強(qiáng)大。但國(guó)家的權(quán)力卻掌握在一批庸官的手中，因此，他失敗了。他很失望，于是就跳進(jìn)了汨羅江，結(jié)束了他的生命。據(jù)說當(dāng)時(shí)有很多人跳入河中并試圖挽救他的生命，但是已經(jīng)太晚了。人們非常傷心，他們把大米投到河里來弘揚(yáng)屈原的愛國(guó)精神。

今天，我們聆誦他的詩(shī)歌《離騷》，被他對(duì)祖國(guó)的愛深深感動(dòng)，因而人們?cè)诙宋绻?jié)這天吃粽子、賽龍舟來懷念屈原。此刻，我們應(yīng)該牢記習(xí)主席的諄諄教誨，努力學(xué)好各門功課，強(qiáng)健體魄，為祖國(guó)的富強(qiáng)和實(shí)現(xiàn)中國(guó)夢(mèng)而努力奮斗。
