A local business was looking for office help. They put a sign in the window, stating the following: “HELP WANTED. Must be able to type, must be good with a computer and must be bilingual We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.”
A short time afterwards, a dog saw the sign and went inside. He wagged his tail (搖尾巴), then walked over to the sign, looked at it and whined (狗發(fā)出嗚嗚聲). The office manager looked at the dog and was surprised. However, the dog looked determined (堅定的), so he led him into the office. Inside, the dog jumped onto the chair and stared at the manager.
The manager said, “I cant hire you. You have to be able to type.” The dog jumped down, went to the typewriter and typed out a perfect letter, then jumped back onto the chair.
The manager was stunned (驚嘆的;驚呆的), but then he told the dog, “The sign says
you have to be good with a computer.” The dog jumped down again, went to the computer, proceeded (進行) to enter and executed a perfect program (執(zhí)行一個完美的程序).
By this time the manager was totally stunned! But he looked at the dog and said,“I realize that you are a very clever dog and have some interesting abilities. However, I still cant give you the job.”
The dog went to a copy of the sign and put his paw (爪子) on the words “ Equal Opportunity”. The manager said, “Yes, but the sign also says that you have to be bilingual.”
The dog looked at the manager calmly (冷靜地) and said, “Meow!”
