Do you mind...主要用于表示請(qǐng)求允許或征求對(duì)方意見(jiàn)，它的字面意思是“你介意……嗎”，“……你介意嗎”，實(shí)際翻譯時(shí)可根據(jù)具體的語(yǔ)境來(lái)確定。如：

Do you mind the noise？ 你介意這聲音嗎？

Do you mind my smoking？我抽煙你介意嗎？

He should be here any minute. Do you mind waiting？ 他即刻就到了。你不介意等一下吧？

根據(jù)需要，Do you mind...有以下幾種常見(jiàn)搭配：

Do you mind + 名詞

Do you mind + 動(dòng)名詞

Do you mind + 邏輯主語(yǔ)+動(dòng)名詞

Do you mind + if 從句

Do you mind the smell of tobacco？ 你對(duì)煙草味介意嗎？

Do you mind opening the window？ 請(qǐng)把窗戶打開(kāi)好嗎？

Do you mind my opening the window？ 我把窗戶打開(kāi)你介意嗎？

Do you mind if I look at your paper？ 我可以看看你的證件嗎？

除了 Do you mind... 外，有時(shí)我們也可見(jiàn)到 Would you mind... 的用法。兩者的區(qū)別在于：

（1） 比較而言，用Would you mind...比用 Do you mind...更客氣，語(yǔ)氣更委婉。比如下面兩句，注意相應(yīng)漢語(yǔ)翻譯在語(yǔ)氣上的差別：

Do you mind my smoking here？ 我在這兒抽煙可以嗎？

Would you mind going to the chemists for me？ 麻煩你幫我跑一趟藥店好嗎？

（2）當(dāng)要詢問(wèn)有關(guān)人們感覺(jué)的一般性問(wèn)題時(shí)，通常用Do you mind...，一般不用Would you mind...。如：

Do you mind people smoking in your house？ = Do you mind if people smoke in your house？ 有人在你家里吸煙你介意嗎？

（3）當(dāng)后接 if 從句時(shí)，Do you mind 后的 if 從句通常用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)，而 Would you mind后的 if 從句則通常用一般過(guò)去時(shí)。如：

Do you mind if I keep it for another week？ 我可以再借一個(gè)星期嗎？

Would you mind I kept it for another week？ 我可以再借一個(gè)星期嗎？

但是，如果換成動(dòng)名詞，則沒(méi)有形式上的區(qū)別。如：

Do you mind my keeping it for another week？ 我可以再借一個(gè)星期嗎？

Would you mind my keeping it for another week？ 我可以再借一個(gè)星期嗎？

在通常情況下，表示同意用Yes，表示不同意用No。但是，對(duì)Do [Would] you mind... 來(lái)說(shuō)，情況則完全相反。因?yàn)閷?duì)Do [Would] you mind... 的回答，從本質(zhì)上說(shuō)是對(duì) mind 的回答，也就是說(shuō)，若同意對(duì)方的請(qǐng)求，應(yīng)用 not mind（不介意），若不同意對(duì)方的請(qǐng)求，則用mind（介意）。通常的回答方式有：

1. 表示同意（即不介意）的答語(yǔ)：

No， thats all right. 不介意，沒(méi)關(guān)系。

No， go ahead， please. 不介意，請(qǐng)……吧。

Certainly not. 當(dāng)然不介意。

Of course not. 當(dāng)然不介意。

No， not at all. 一點(diǎn)也不介意。

No， I dont mind at all. 一點(diǎn)也不介意。

2. 表示不同意（即介意）的答語(yǔ)：

Yes， I do mind. 是的，我介意。

Please dont. 請(qǐng)別……

Better not， please. 請(qǐng)最好不要……

Id rather you didnt. 我寧愿你不要……
