“It is very hard for us to imagine that a border tax would be good for the US economy,” Mr Maestri said. “It is a tax that would end up burdening the end consumer. It presupposes as an idea that the dollar would have to appreciate very significantly from where it is today, which is already too strong.” With a potentially detrimental impact to US competitiveness and jobs, he added. One way for Apple to avoid being hit by such a tax change would be to increase the scale of its US manufacturing.

Speaking at a press conference to report its 2016 earnings results, Canon CFO Toshizo Tanaka said Canon is making a“major strategic transition” to shift its axis for growth from conventional mainstay businesses such as digital cameras and copiers to new businesses, including medical equipment.“To that end, we have a range of investments coming up. Microsoft CFO,Amy Hood
Microsoft CFO Amy Hood divulged that the multinational technology company is“deeply focused on driving revenue growth” and not cost savings. In order to drive revenue growth for LinkedIn, the CFO announced that they will be focusing on return on investment, as well as investments in initiatives that will generate income. When asked whether they are willing to spend more money on innovations,Hood answered in the affirmative, as long as “we’re putting it in the right place.”
