Dreamcatchers originate11 from Native Americans. They made dreamcatchers toprotect their babies and young children. They were meant to trap all evil12 spiritsthat came in the form of nightmares. The small dreamcatcher hung over the cradle13or bed to make their children safe during the night.

All mothers and grandmothersagreed to make a web inside loops made from the willow tree. These magical webscould catch the evil spirits around the child at night. Evil spirits would not be ableto get close to the sleeping child anymore.
