It’s estimated3 that there is now around three tonnes of human poop littering Mount Qomolangma. To solve the problem, new rules in Nepal require climbers to take poo-bags with them. These will then be checked when they return to base camp.

A group of young people recently enrolled4 in a night school to learn the suona, atraditional Chinese musical instrument, much to the surprise of the instructor. Thesuona class at the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Center’s art school was set to enroll 16students but attracted 491 applicants5.
